Propensity of stroke in standard versus various aortic arch variants: A 200 patients study
Conclusions: Standard aortic arch Type 2, bovine aortic arch Type A, and Type B are associated with an early age at stroke presentation. During routine carotid evaluation by CT or MR angiography in stroke patients, it would be better to evaluate the aortic arch as well, especially in young patients.

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis following Russell's viper (Daboia russelii) envenomation: A case report and review of the literature
We report a previously healthy middle-aged Indian female who developed cerebral venous sinus thrombosis preceded by features of disseminated bleeding diathesis following Russell's viper bite. The cerebral venous sinus thrombosis was diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging. The patient responded well to treatment with antivenom and subcutaneous enoxaparin and had no demonstrable neurological deficits at three months of follow-up.PMID:36041514 | DOI:10.1016/j.toxicon.2022.08.014

Reversal of Oral Vitamin K Antagonists Using Prothrombin Complex Concentration Prior to IV tPA Administration
Irmak Salt, Işıl Kalyonu Aslan, Çisil İrem Özgenç Biçer, Eren GözkeNeurology India 2022 70(3):1238-1239 Herein, we report two acute ischemic stroke cases that we used prothrombin complex to reverse the effects of warfarin in order to apply intravenous thrombolytic treatment. To the best of our knowledge, there are only limited amount of cases that prothrombin complex concentrates were applied prior to intravenous thrombolytic treatment administration. As one of the biggest acute stroke clinics in our country, we aim to open a d...

Large Vessel Occlusions By Free Floating Thrombi in Strokes During the COVID-19 pandemic- A Single Center Observational Study
Conclusions: This study highlights the presence of FFT causing LVO as a new stroke subtype during the COVID-19 pandemic. With renewed and steeper spike in COVID-19 cases, especially new variants, the resurgence of this stroke subtype needs to be actively explored early in the course of illness to reduce morbidity and mortality.

Acute ischemic stroke in children & #8211; should we thrombolyze ?
KP Vinayan, Vivek Nambiar, Vaishakh AnandAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology 2022 25(1):21-25 Ischemic stroke is a major cause of acute neurological symptoms in children with significant long-term neurological sequelae. Unlike in the adult population, the clinical presentation of strokes in children may not be stereotyped. Hence, many other differential diagnostic possibilities might have to be considered in the emergency setting. Due to this heterogeneous presentation and the resultant clinical dilemma in the early detection, acute thrombolysis even now remains as a very rarely tried therapeutic option in children. Man...

An Atypical Presentation of Left Lateral Medullary Syndrome & #8211; A Case Report
We report a case of a 62-year-old diabetic, hypertensive male who presented with symptoms involving the left lateral dorsal medulla along with partial Horner's syndrome, left lateral rectus palsy, and left lower motor neuron–type facial palsy. Atypical presentation in LMS could be explained by infraction of left facial colliculus in addition to the left lateral medulla. Association of these entities with Wallenberg's syndrome is atypical features in our case, which questioned the diagnosis of a simple LMS.

Short- and Long-term cardiovascular outcomes in insulin-treated versus non-insulin-treated diabetes mellitus patients after percutaneous coronary intervention: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Despite a tremendous technical success rate of multi-vessel stenting, people living with diabetes who were being treated with insulin had higher long-term, and short-term mortality rates, MI, TLR, TVR, and stroke compared to people living with diabetes who were being treated with means other than insulin and are more prone to detrimental cardiovascular outcomes.PMID:34906538 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2021.12.004
