Predictive Model for PICC Occlusion Risk for Patients in Intensive Care Units: A Retrospective Clinical Study
CONCLUSIONS: Age ≥65 years, BMI ≥24 kg/m2, diabetes, malignant tumors, blood transfusions, and intravenous nutrition were independent risk factors for PICC occlusion, while the frequency of flushing and sealing pipe (Q8h) was a protective factor. This prediction model had an outstanding ability to discriminate in identifying patients with a high-risk of PICC occlusion in the ICU.PMID:37573601

Long-term influence of air pollutants on morbidity and all-cause mortality of cardiometabolic multi-morbidity: A cohort analysis of the UK Biobank participants
CONCLUSIONS: We revealed that people living in areas with high air pollution suffered from higher hazard of CMD, CMM and all-cause mortality; our findings implied keeping clean air was an effective approach to prevent or mitigate initiation, progression, and death from healthy to CMDs and from CMDs to CMM.PMID:37573024 | DOI:10.1016/j.envres.2023.116873

Pharmacological interventions for asymptomatic carotid stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: Although there is no high-certainty evidence to support pharmacological intervention, this does not mean that pharmacological treatments are ineffective in preventing ischaemic cerebral events, morbidity, and mortality. High-quality RCTs are needed to better inform the best medical treatment that may reduce the burden of carotid stenosis. In the interim, clinicians will have to use other sources of information.PMID:37565307 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD013573.pub2
