Relationship between low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, lipid-lowering agents and risk of stroke: a meta-analysis of observational studies ( < em > n < /em > = 355,591) and randomized controlled trials ( < em > n < /em > = 165,988)
CONCLUSIONS: Our study sheds light on the debatable association between low LDL-C and different type of strokes. This information can help determine the optimal LDL-C range for stroke prevention, and help plan future LLA studies.PMID:35832716 | PMC:PMC9266957 | DOI:10.5114/aoms/145970

Supplemental oxygen delivery to suspected stroke patients in pre hospital and emergency department settings
Conclusions Suspected stroke patients routinely receive 10–15 L/min oxygen in the ambulance however in the ED there is wide variability due to factors such as clinical severity. Oxygen delivery appears safe in the PH and ED settings.

Granulocyte colony stimulating factor therapy for stroke: A pairwise meta-analysis of randomized controlled trial
In conclusion, it appears to be safe in administration of G-CSF, but it will increase leukocyte count. G-CSF was weakly significant benefit with improving the BI scores, while there was no improvement in the NIHSS scores. Larger and more robustly designed trials of G-CSF in stroke are needed to confirm the results.

Strict target blood pressure management for reducing the stroke risk according to 2017 ACC/AHA blood pressure guideline.
CONCLUSIONS: Elevated BP increases the risk of developing stroke, particularly in the absence of routine BP measurements and hypertension treatment. A strict BP management target (SBP, <120 mmHg; DBP, <80 mmHg) should be adopted for young and middle-aged men. METHODS: This population-based cohort study was conducted between October 1991 and January 2018. The association of BP categories, defined by the 2017 ACC/AHA BP guideline, with first-ever stroke risk was assessed using Cox regression models. PMID: 31454794 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Emergency Cervical Carotid Artery Stenting After Intravenous Thrombolysis in Patients With Hyperacute Ischemic Stroke
CONCLUSION: We showed that emergent carotid artery stenting after IV rtPA therapy for hyperacute stroke caused by atherosclerotic proximal ICA steno-occlusion was feasible and safe.PMID:35578588 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2022.37.e156

Impact of level and patterns of alcohol drinking on coronary heart disease and stroke burden in Argentina
ConclusionsIn Argentina, the cardioprotective effect of regular and moderate alcohol drinking is slightly larger than the harmful impact of binge drinking on CVD. However, considering global deleterious effects of alcohol in public health, policies to reduce binge drinking should be enforced, especially for young people. Studies are still needed to elucidate effects on cardiovascular health.
