Comparison of On-hour vs Off-hour Patient Cohorts at a Primary Stroke Center: Onset-To-Treatment Duration and Clinical Outcomes after IV Thrombolysis (S21.005)
CONCLUSIONS: We found no significant differences in OTT durations, stroke severity, or stroke outcomes between patients whose symptoms originated during on-hours vs off-hours. The Discharge Modified Rankin Scale Score Correlates with Established Hemorrhagic Transformation Scores in Ischemic Stroke Patients Treated with Thrombolysis (P7.118)
Conclusions: Discharge MRS scores showed robust agreement with at least 3 HT scores known to predict long-term functional outcomes after IV rt-PA therapy. Age- and Sex-Associated Impacts of Body Mass Index on Stroke Type Risk: A 27-Year Prospective Cohort Study in a Low-Income Population in China
Conclusions Being overweight increased the risk of both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes; obesity was only associated with an increased risk of IS. Additionally, the positive association between BMI and stroke risk was only observed in participants aged <65 years and the associations differed between men and women. Overweight teen boys have increased risk of stroke in later life
Conclusion The findings of this large longitudinal cohort study seem to demonstrate a link between being overweight aged 20 and an increased risk of stroke. This risk was regardless of whether the boy had been overweight aged 8 or not. There seemed to be no increased risk for boys who were overweight aged 8 but were a normal weight by the age of 20. Pattern and risk factors of stroke in the young among stroke patients admitted in medical college hospital, Thiruvananthapuram
Conclusion: In all, 15% of total stroke occurred in young adults <50 years. The proportion of hemorrhagic stroke in young adults is higher than in elderly. Atrial fibrillation is identified as an independent risk factor of stroke in the young. Compared with stroke in elderly alcohol use, smoking, hyperlipidemia, and cardiac diseases, which are known risk factors, are higher in young stroke.

Intracranial atherosclerosis is the most common stroke subtype: Ten-year data from hyderabad stroke registry (India)
Conclusions: The study reveals a distinct pattern of ischemic stroke subtypes in the Indian context that has overlapping features of registries from West and East Asian countries. Both large artery and small vessel diseases are substantially represented with a predominance of intracranial atherosclerosis. The study results have significant implications for developing preventive and management strategies for stroke care and research in India.

Association of APOE gene polymorphism with stroke patients from rural Eastern India
Conclusions: There is significant association of APOE gene polymorphism in stroke patients of ethnic Bengali population. The E4 allele increases significant risk for development of ischemic strokes, and it also plays nonsignificant increase in trend in hemorrhagic strokes.

Hyponatremia in stroke
Conclusion: Incidence of hyponatremia in our study population was 35%. In patients of hyponatremia 67% were having SIADH and 33% were having CSWS. Overall hyponatremia affected the outcome of stroke especially when caused by CSWS. Therefore close monitoring of serum sodium must be done in all patients who are admitted with stroke and efforts must be made to determine the cause of hyponatremia, in order to properly manage such patients thereby decreasing the mortality rate.

HAT Score Outperforms 7 Other Hemorrhagic Transformation Scores in Ischemic Stroke Patients Treated with Thrombolysis (P3.109)
Conclusions: HAT score yielded the highest odds ratio among the 4 scores that accurately predicted sICH in our independent dataset. HAT score also had low computational complexity compared to other scores.
