Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis in COVID-19 Patients: A Multicenter Study and Review of Literature
COVID-19 infection has been known to predispose patients to both arterial and venous thromboembolic events such as deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and stroke. A few reports from the literature suggest that Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVSTs) may be a direct complication of COVID-19.

Stroke due to Left Atrial Appendage Thrombus after Pulmonary Vein Isolation despite Novel Oral Anticoagulant: A Case Report
We report on a patient with atrial fibrillation undergoing catheter ablation and cardioversion suffering from ischemic stroke despite being under oral anticoagulation. It turned out that the drug activity of the NOACs used was repeatedly insufficient in spite of regular intake and adequate dosing. In sum, drug activity controls should be taken into consideration in patients with thrombotic events despite oral anticoagulation with NOACs.Case Rep Neurol 2021;13:225 –232

Ischemic Stroke Associated With Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome
Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is the most serious complication of assisted reproductive technology. Severe OHSS may be accompanied by thromboembolic events, such as pulmonary thromboembolism or acute respiratory distress syndrome. Ischemic stroke may occur in rare cases.

Simultaneous Acute Pulmonary Thromboembolism and Stroke & #8211; A Management Dilemma
We report the case of a 52-year-old man with concurrent massive right middle cerebral artery AIS and acute PTE, who was successfully managed despite the contradictory guidelines to manage them simultaneously. The patient underwent decompression craniotomy followed by anticoagulant therapy. The current case report demonstrates that full-dose heparin, despite being relatively contraindicated in an AIS, can achieve a good outcome when given under close monitoring. The transesophageal echo with bubble contrast during the Valsalva maneuver demonstrated patent foramen ovale with a right to left shunt as a cause of AIS and PTE in this patient.

A case of Lemierre's syndrome causing panhypopituitarism, cavernous sinus thrombosis, ischaemic stroke and pulmonary embolism
We present the case of a previously well 19-year-old man, who presented acutely unwell with meningitis and sepsis. Fusobacterium necrophorum was isolated from peripheral blood cultures and identified on cerebrospinal fluid with 16S rDNA Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Imaging demonstrated internal jugular vein thrombosis with subsequent cavernous venous sinus thrombosis. Pituitary function tests were suggestive of panhypopituitarism. The patient was diagnosed with Lemierre's syndrome complicated by meningitis, cavernous sinus thrombosis, base of skull osteomyelitis, ischaemic stroke and panhypopituitarism. He was treated ...
