AbstractA right-handed woman in her 80s was admitted to the emergency department 1 h after sudden-onset global aphasia and right-sided hemiparesis. Medical history included arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, aortic stenosis, osteoporosis, and recent pulmonary embolism. Medication consisted of apixaban, bisoprolol, hydrochlorothiazide, allopurinol, fenofibrate, and vitamin D. Case report: Mechanical thrombectomy for acute basilar artery occlusion via persistent hypoglossal artery
Persistent hypoglossal artery (PHA) is a rare carotid-vertebrobasilar anastomosis in adults. Here, we report a case of mechanical thrombectomy for acute basilar artery occlusion via the PHA. A 44-year-old man was admitted to our stroke unit with an unstable gait and aphasia for 2 h. The baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was 4, but the clinical symptoms continued to worsen. Improved language function for post-stroke aphasia in the long term following repeated repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and intensive speech-language-hearing therapy: a case report
ConclusionsThe findings of the study indicate that the repeated use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and intensive speech-language-hearing therapy may be effective in improving and preserving language function and increasing cerebral blood flow for aphasia following stroke.

Intra-and peritumoral hemorrhage in the meningioma of a nonagenarian due to administration of direct oral anticoagulants after mechanical thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: Peritumoral edema representing a pial blood supply might be a significant factor associated with intracranial hemorrhage due to DOAC administration in patients with meningioma.
