Phenotypes and outcomes in non-anticoagulated patients with atrial fibrillation: An unsupervised cluster analysis
CONCLUSION: Cluster analysis identified three statistically driven groups of patients with atrial fibrillation, with distinct phenotype characteristics and associated with different risks for major clinical adverse events.PMID:37422421 | DOI:10.1016/j.acvd.2023.06.001

Risk of arterial thromboembolism, bleeding and mortality in atrial fibrillation patients with comorbid cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: In AF patients, the presence of cancer is associated with a similar risk of TE and an increased risk of bleeding and all-cause death.PMID:37414144 | DOI:10.1016/j.hjc.2023.06.005

Bioprosthetic versus mechanical valves for mitral valve replacement in patients   & lt;  70 years: an updated pairwise meta-analysis
ConclusionThe use of MMV in patients  <  70 undergoing MVR is associated with lower rates of 30-day/long-term mortality compared to BPV. No significant differences were observed for risk of 30-day/long-term stroke, long-term reoperation, and long-term major bleeding. These findings support the use of MMV in younger patients, although pr ospective, randomized trials are still needed.

Initial therapeutic anticoagulation with rivaroxaban compared to prophylactic therapy with heparins in moderate to severe COVID-19: results of the COVID-PREVENT randomized controlled trial
ConclusionsTherapeutic anticoagulation with rivaroxaban compared to prophylactic anticoagulation with a heparin did not improve surrogates of clinical outcome in patients with moderate to severe COVID-19. Whether initial rivaroxaban at therapeutic doses might be superior to thromboprophylaxis in patients with COVID-19 and a high risk as defined byd-dimer  >  2 ULN needs confirmation in further studies.Graphical abstract

Hemorrhagic risk factors after rt PA thrombolysis in acute cerebral infarction
CONCLUSIONS: The establishment of a prediction model based on the risk factors of HT after rt-PA thrombolysis had a good predictive value in patients with ACI. This model was helpful in guiding clinical judgment and improving the safety of intravenous thrombolysis. Early identification of symptomatic bleeding risk factors provided a reference for clinical treatment and prognostic measures of patients with ACI.PMID:37401290 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202306_32791
