The role of PGRMC2 in the trophoblast invasion
In conclusion, PGRMC2 plays a role in placentation by promoting cell proliferation, invasion, and angiogenesis in EVTs via activation of HIF1α signaling. We thus identified a new function of PGRMC2 and provide insights on understanding the mechanisms of trophoblast invasion.PMID:37665239 | DOI:10.1093/biolre/ioad109

Estrogen-sensitive activation of SGK1 induces M2 macrophages with anti-inflammatory properties and a Th2 response at the maternal-fetal interface
CONCLUSION: Our findings highlighted the immunomodulatory roles of E2-activated SGK1 in Th2 immune responses by priming anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages at the maternal-fetal interface, resulting in a balanced immune microenvironment during pregnancy. Our results suggest new perspectives on future preventative strategies for RPL.PMID:37226177 | DOI:10.1186/s12958-023-01102-9

Cortactin knockdown results in disruption of basal TBCs and alters turnover of Sertoli cell ESs in R. norvegicus
Biol Reprod. 2021 Aug 23:ioab161. doi: 10.1093/biolre/ioab161. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHere we explore the prediction that long-term knockdown of cortactin (CTTN), a component of tubulobulbar complexes (TBCs), disrupts TBCs in Sertoli cells and alters the turnover of basal ectoplasmic specializations (ESs). In rats, intratesticular injections of siRNA targeting CTTN (siCTTN) in one testis and non-targeting siRNA (siControl) in the contralateral testis were done on days 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8. The experiment was terminated on day 9 and testes were analyzed by either Western Blotting, or by stimulated emission depletion (ST...

The IL6/sIL-6R α trans-signaling increases PGE2 production in human granulosa cells
In conclusion, IL6 trans-signaling upregulates the expression of PTGS2 and increases the production of PGE2 via the JAK2/STAT3/SOCS3 signaling pathway in hGL cells. Our findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms by which IL6 trans-signaling may potentially modulate the event of ovulation in human ovaries.PMID:34198336 | DOI:10.1093/biolre/ioab128
