Inhibition of AIF-1 alleviates laser-induced macular neovascularization by inhibiting endothelial cell proliferation via restrained p44/42 MAPK signaling pathway
This study aimed to understand how AIF-1 effects the proliferation of CECs and the subsequent progression of MNV. To study this, a mouse MNV model was established through laser injury, and the AIF-1 expression levels were then measured using western blot and immunohistochemistry. AIF-1 siRNA was intravitreally injected to silence AIF-1 gene expression. Western blot and choroidal flat mount were performed to measure the progression of MNV and proliferation of the CECs. These results showed that the protein expression of AIF-1 was significantly elevated in the laser-induced mouse MNV model, and the expression trend was consi...

Cyclophilin A/CD147 signaling induces the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and renal fibrosis in chronic allograft dysfunction by regulating p38 MAPK signaling
CONCLUSIONS: Our study reported the positive relationship of CyPA-CD147 signaling with renal allograft dysfunction. The in vitro study suggested that CyPA-CD147 signaling induce the development of the EMT process by p38 MAPK signaling, thus contributing to renal allograft fibrosis and CAD.PMID:36203223 | DOI:10.1080/0886022X.2022.2126788

Properdin produced by dendritic cells contributes to the activation of T cells
Immunobiology. 2022 Jul 9;227(4):152246. doi: 10.1016/j.imbio.2022.152246. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe complement system does not only play an important role in the defence against microorganism and pathogens, but also contributes to the regulation of innate and adaptive immunity. Especially activation fragments C3a and C5a and complement activation at the interface of antigen presenting cell (APC) and T cell, were shown to have a role in T cell activation and proliferation. Whereas most complement factors are produced by the liver, properdin, a positive regulator of the C3 convertase, is mainly produced by myeloid c...

Abstracts of Presentations at the Association of Clinical Scientists 143 < sup > rd < /sup > Meeting Louisville, KY May 11-14,2022
Conclusion: These assays are suitable for routine diagnostic. The UltraFast NextGenPCR is the fastest with average time (30mins), followed by Agilent (2 hrs) and MassArray (6hrs). Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to examine, measure and compare results from different assays for SARS detection, evaluate and diagnose accurately, as well as being able to plan, organize and recommend a diagnostic procedure for diagnostic laboratory. Key words: SARS-CoV-2, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, limit of detection, quantification cycle, COVID-19, in vitro diagnostic tests, Agilent, Massarray, Ultrafast. [20] From t...
