Leiomyosarcoma of the lower rectum managed by radiotherapy and surgery: A case report and review of literature
Cancer Radiother. 2023 Apr 22:S1278-3218(23)00053-7. doi: 10.1016/j.canrad.2022.10.002. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRectal leiomyosarcoma is a very rare entity. Case Report: Adjuvant image-guided radiation therapy reduces surgical invasiveness in malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors
ConclusionsIn this report, we demonstrate the successful use of advanced radiotherapy techniques such as IGRT while avoiding demolitive surgery for MPNST. Though a longer follow-up is necessary, at the 18-month follow-up, the patient demonstrated good outcomes from surgical resection followed by adjuvant RT for MPNST in the forearm.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery vs Conventional Radiotherapy for Localized Vertebral Metastases of the Spine: Phase 3 Results of NRG Oncology/RTOG 0631 Randomized Clinical Trial
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: In this randomized clinical trial, superiority of SRS for the primary end point of patient-reported pain response at 3 months was not found, and there were no spinal cord complications at 2 years after SRS. This finding may inform further investigation of using spine radiosurgery in the setting of oligometastases, where durability of cancer control is essential.TRIAL REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT00922974.PMID:37079324 | DOI:10.1001/jamaoncol.2023.0356
