A standardized surgical technique for removal of the Interstim tined lead.
CONCLUSION: Permanent tined leads can break on removal and retained fragments can pose significant health consequences. Our technique standardizes the approach for removal and is safe and effective in our series. PMID: 27705733 [PubMed - in process]

Evaluation of Lymphorrhea and Incidence of Lymphoceles: 4DryField® PH in Radical Retropubic Prostatectomy.
Conclusion. Application of 4DF on lymph node dissection areas lessened total drain loss and significantly lowered high volume drain loss. Furthermore, 4DF reduced frequency of late lymphoceles and lymphoceles requiring treatment by half, as well as duration of percutaneous drainage by more than two-thirds. PMID: 27418927 [PubMed]

Initial experiences with the Hemopatch ® as a hemostatic agent in zero-ischemia partial nephrectomy
Conclusions Although this study is limited to a small set of initial experiences with Hemopatch® in LPN, it proves the feasibility and reliability of this new hemostat. Following further evaluation in prospective randomized comparative studies, Hemopatch® might represent a promising tool in NSS.

Photoselective Vaporesection of the Prostate with a Front-firing Lithium Triborate Laser: Surgical Technique and Experience After 215 Procedures
Conclusions PVRP is a novel technique that is effective and safe for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. This technique retains the excellent hemostatic property of LBO lasers and has a short operation time and a high tissue removal rate. The problem of the lack of postoperative tissue samples for PVP is also overcome in PVRP. Patient summary We have developed a novel technique named photoselective vaporesection of the prostate (PVRP) with a front-firing green laser. Our results show that PVRP retains the excellent hemostatic property of a green laser, but has a much shorter operation time and a higher rate of tiss...

Percutaneous Suprapubic Stone Extraction for Posterior Urethral Stones in Children: Efficacy and Safety
Conclusion: PSPSE provides a minimally invasive approach for the extraction of urethral and bladder stones in the pediatric population. The use of a straight hemostat for suprapubic stone extraction or crushing is a good alternative to suprapubic tract dilation, with minimal morbidity.
