Timed intercourse for couples trying to conceive
CONCLUSIONS: The new evidence presented in this review update shows that timed intercourse using urine ovulation tests probably improves live birth and pregnancy rates (clinical or positive urine pregnancy tests but not yet confirmed by ultrasound) in women under 40, trying to conceive for less than 12 months, compared to intercourse without ovulation prediction. However, there are insufficient data to determine the effects of urine ovulation tests on adverse events, clinical pregnancy, time to pregnancy, and quality of life. Similarly, due to limited data, we are uncertain of the effect of FABM on pregnancy outcomes, adve...

Cryotherapy following total knee replacement
CONCLUSIONS: The certainty of evidence was low for blood loss, pain and range of motion, and very low for transfusion rate, function, total adverse events and withdrawals from adverse events. We are uncertain whether cryotherapy improves transfusion rate, function, total adverse events or withdrawals from adverse events. We downgraded evidence for bias, indirectness, imprecision and inconsistency. Hence, the potential benefits of cryotherapy on blood loss, pain and range of motion may be too small to justify its use. More well-designed randomised controlled trials focusing especially on clinically meaningful outcomes, such...

3D-printed polycaprolactone scaffolds coated with beta tricalcium phosphate for bone regeneration
CONCLUSION: We concluded that both meshes structured PCL and PCL/β-TCP scaffolds could promote the MG-63 cell growth, and PCL/β-TCP was better than the PCL scaffolds for the outcome of MG63 cell differentiation and mineralization.PMID:37709573 | DOI:10.1016/j.jfma.2023.08.009

Endoscopic Necrosectomy
Gastrointest Endosc Clin N Am. 2023 Oct;33(4):709-724. doi: 10.1016/j.giec.2023.04.010. Epub 2023 Jun 1.ABSTRACTThe management of walled-off necrosis has evolved substantially over the past 23 years since its first description. In this article, we review its history and the evidence supporting modern treatment, which is still subject to heterogeneity across centers and among endoscopists. This allows for creativity and customization of what can be an endoscopic marathon. Our typical practice is discussed with image and video guides aimed at improving procedure success.PMID:37709406 | DOI:10.1016/j.giec.2023.04.010
