PsoBarrier EU study: a Multicentre, Cross-sectional Survey Investigating the Quality of Psoriasis Care in Four European Countries
Acta Derm Venereol. 2023 Aug 31;103:adv6532. doi: 10.2340/actadv.v103.6532.ABSTRACTEnhanced treatment options for psoriasis and growing use of guidelines increased the potential to better quality of psoriasis care in Europe. The aim of the PsoBarrier EU study is to compare the quality and processes of psoriasis care in four European countries with different healthcare systems, based on validated quality indicators. This cross-sectional survey was conducted in dermatology centres in Denmark, Germany, Poland and Spain on 1,304 patients, using standardized patient and physician questionnaires. Measured by quality of psoriasis...

Accumulation and dietary risks of perfluoroalkyl substances in fish and shellfish: A market-based study in Barcelona
Environ Res. 2023 Aug 29:117009. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2023.117009. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSince the 1940s, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been widely produced and used in various applications due to their unique properties. Consequently, the principal exposure routes of PFAS have been broadly studied, leading to the conclusion that dietary exposure (more specifically, the consumption of fish and seafood) was one of their main contributors. Thus, developing an analytical method that determines the level of PFAS in fish and seafood has become a relevant subject. In this work, a previous analytical me...

A polymorphism in ABCA2 is associated with neutropenia induced by capecitabine in Japanese patients with colorectal cancer
CONCLUSIONS: We found that ABCA2 polymorphism was significantly associated with systemic exposure to capecitabine and capecitabine-induced neutropenia in Japanese patients with CRC.PMID:37653272 | DOI:10.1007/s00280-023-04584-x

Real-world study on microsatellite instability and mismatch repair deficiency testing patterns among patients with metastatic colorectal cancer in Spain
CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that a high proportion of patients with mCRC are currently tested for dMMR/MSI-H in tertiary hospitals across Spain. However, there is still room for improvement until universal testing is achieved.TRIAL REGISTRATION: Not applicable.PMID:37651021 | DOI:10.1007/s12094-023-03309-z

Strength performance of low-bearing-capacity clayey soils stabilized with ladle furnace slag
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 Aug 30. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-29375-y. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn this paper, the performance of ladle furnace slag (LFS), a by-product of secondary steel refining, is evaluated as a binder to stabilize clayey soils of low bearing capacity. The aim is to define whether additions of this by-product to clayey soil can stabilize the soil in accordance with the technical specifications of Spanish standards. To do so, three different soils stabilized with 5% LFS were compared with the same soils stabilized with 2% lime and with no stabilization, in order to investigate their different be...
