Clinical impact of detrusor muscle in en bloc resection for T1 bladder cancer
CONCLUSIONS: In ERBT, surgeon's experience seems irrelevant to obtain DM. Resection quality relies on surgical margin status, not the degree of DM. Obtaining excessive DM incurs adverse events/unnecessary medical care.PMID:37714725 | DOI:10.1016/j.urolonc.2023.08.004

LDR-Brachytherapy monotherapy appears unsuited for NCCN unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients
CONCLUSIONS: Subclassification of IR prostate cancer into FIR and UIR subcategories appears mandatory. For FIR patients, outcomes after BT monotherapy were acceptable. However, clinical failure after 125J-LDR-BT in UIR patients was notably increased, suggesting that BT monotherapy was less successful in this risk group. In contrast, the outcome in UIR patients after CRT was excellent.PMID:37714724 | DOI:10.1016/j.urolonc.2023.08.007

Malignancy-associated membranous nephropathy: focus on diagnosis and treatment
CONCLUSIONS: Tumor screening is important in patients with membranous nephropathy, especially in elderly patients and patients with negative phospholipase A2 receptor or non-IgG4 predominant deposition. Remission of membranous nephropathy can be observed following remission of cancer in some cases. Immunosuppressive therapy may be considered if membranous nephropathy does not remit after remission of cancer.PMID:37713160 | DOI:10.1007/s40620-023-01751-4

Characteristics of Complement Protein Deposition in Proliferative Glomerulonephritis with Monoclonal Immunoglobulin Deposition
CONCLUSIONS: The complement system was found to be overactivated in PGNMID, and levels of urinary complements correlated with disease severity. A higher level of urinary C4d was identified as an independent risk factor for kidney failure.PMID:37713183 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.0000000000000295

Diagnostic utility of serum and urine biomarkers in idiopathic membranous nephropathy: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsThis meta-analysis shows that PLA2R-AB and THSD7A-AB are of important diagnostic value for IMN. More studies are needed in the future to reveal the diagnostic value of LIMP-2 and circRNAs for IMN.

Vascular Access-Related Distal Ischemia Requiring Intervention: Frequency, Risk Factors, and Consequences
CONCLUSIONS: Access-related distal ischemia requiring intervention was rare in the current study, and more common in women and patients with peripheral vascular disease or coronary artery disease. In some cases, a subsequent vascular access could be placed with a low likelihood of recurrent distal ischemia.PMID:37707801 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.0000000000000310
