Severe bilateral optic neuritis post Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) and Typhoid fever vaccination
We report the case of a 51 year old man who presented to the Emergency Department complaining of bilateral periorbital and ocular pain, followed by a precipitous decline in bilateral visual acuity. He had a history of vitamin B12 deficiency (but not pernicious anaemia), and a remote history of pulmonary and cutaneous sarcoidosis, now quiescent. Other than B12 supplementation, he took no regular medication. He denied any antecedent infective symptoms, or any other neurological symptoms. Two weeks prior to presentation, he was vaccinated electively against typhoid fever and Hepatitis A virus (HAV).

Sucrose and Warmth for Analgesia in Healthy Newborns: An RCT
The objective of this study was to compare the analgesic effect of sucrose combined with radiant warmth with sucrose alone during a painful procedure in healthy newborns. Pain during a hepatitis B vaccination was evaluated using the behavioral determinants of length of facial grimace and crying and physiologic determinants of heart rate (HR) and respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA). A total of 29 healthy, full-term newborns were included in this randomized controlled trial; 15 participants in the sucrose-alone group and 14 in the sucrose plus radiant warmth.

Needle size for vaccination procedures in children and adolescents.
CONCLUSIONS: Using 25 mm needles (either 23 G or 25 G) for intramuscular vaccination procedures in the anterolateral thigh of infants using the WHO injection technique probably reduces the occurrence of local reactions while achieving a comparable immune response to 25 G 16 mm needles. These findings are applicable to healthy infants aged two to six months receiving combination DTwP vaccines with a reactogenic whole-cell pertussis antigen component. These vaccines are predominantly used in developing countries. The applicability of the findings to vaccines with acellular pertussis components and other vaccines with differe...

4 Month-Old Infant From Tennessee Passed Away After Given 7 Vaccines
Parents in Memphis, Tennessee, are mourning the loss of their baby girl Ja’Liyah Cortize Turner, after she passed away in her sleep, less than four days after receiving seven vaccines. Her mother Quavia felt pressured into getting her daughter further vaccinated, even though she didn’t want to, because her daughter had a bad reaction from the round of vaccines given to her earlier. Ja’Liyah’s autopsy report did not mention the vaccines even though she still had the knots on her legs at the injection sites. Her cause of death was ruled “Unknown, Undetermined.” The autopsy stated Ja’Liyah had no significant...

Nickson Would be Celebrating Life if it Weren’t for Vaccines
Conclusion Parents need to be able to choose what goes into their child’s body, especially when their babies are not born full-term or have any underlying health problems at birth. When a product such as a vaccine is injected into a child, known to be associated with severe risks, including death, there should be a standard protocol in place for these families to get needed support when the risks outweigh the benefits. No one can predict how a vaccine will negatively affect a person. Lindsey and other families going through this, suffering the loss of a child likely caused by the vaccine(s) given to them, when no other p...

Top-Line Questions From Moms About MMR
We all want our children to be safe and healthy. Measles is a serious and highly contagious disease, but, fortunately, we can prevent it with immunizations. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe and the best way to protect your child against measles and other diseases. I understand that some parents are concerned about vaccines. The evidence about the vaccine's safety and benefits is strong and consistent. There is a lot of inaccurate information circulating about the measles vaccine, so let's make sure we separate the facts from the myths. If you have any concerns or questions, talk to your child's health...

California Infant Dies after 8 Vaccines, Family Gets Him Back from Hospital Cremated
Conclusion As long as vaccine manufacturers avoid doing causation studies, as long as this data doesn’t exist, health officials and published vaccine-promoting, peer-reviewed literature can state there is no proof vaccines cause SIDS or other vaccine injuries. How can a medical examiner be sure of which vaccine caused a person’s health to decline when multiple vaccines are given at a time? Overstimulating the immune system via vaccination can lead to a fatal outcome. Since it is proven difficult to narrow down which vaccine contributed to a child’s death after vaccination, giving numerous or combination vaccines should be a concern.

Vaccine-Injured Child Kidnapped from Family by Child Protective Services
Vaccine injury and medical kidnapping stories are becoming commonplace. They are often connected. One mother never thought for a second that vaccinating her child would tear her family apart. Rebekah McClain wants parents to learn what her family is almost unbelievably dealing with because they chose to vaccinate. No child deserves to suffer through this pain. This is her true story.   One Family’s Heartbreak “I have a son named Kacer Lee Harris. He was born on December 25, 2013. He is my Christmas miracle. I have been praying for years to have a child on Christmas Day. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. W...

Boy Gets Diagnosed with Autism After 32 Shots
Conclusion: Leaving You with Words from Natalie “As a woman of faith I must speak the truth in love, and sometimes it can come across harsh. Not everyone who sees Autism really understands what Autism is. Yes, our children look normal on the outside and occasionally we can get a great picture of them making eye contact and smiling into the camera, but that is not easily done. When someone says that their child is blessed with Autism, and that God made him/her that way… maybe your child really doesn’t have Autism, just enough symptoms for them to be placed on the spectrum? Autism is not a curse; it is a damage...

Immunogenicity and safety of Advax™, a novel polysaccharide adjuvant based on delta inulin, when formulated with hepatitis B surface antigen: A randomized controlled Phase 1 study.
Abstract There is a need for additional safe and effective human vaccine adjuvants. Advax™ is a novel adjuvant produced from semi-crystalline particles of delta inulin. In animal studies Advax enhanced humoral and cellular immunity to hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) without inducing local or systemic reactogenicity. This first-in-man Phase 1 clinical trial tested the safety and tolerability of three intramuscular doses of HBsAg formulated with Advax in a group of healthy adult subjects. Advax was well tolerated with injection site pain scores not significantly different to subjects receiving HBsAg alone and ...

Egypt’s Poor Easy Victims of Quack Medicine
Many pharmacies and herbalists in Egypt prescribe their own 'wasfa' (secret drug or herbal elixir). Credit: Cam McGrath/IPSBy Cam McGrathCAIRO, Aug 10 2014 (IPS) Magda Ibrahim first learnt that she had endometrial cancer when she went to a clinic to diagnose recurring bladder pain and an abnormal menstrual discharge. Unable to afford the recommended hospital treatment, the uninsured 53-year-old widow turned to what she hoped would be a quicker and cheaper therapy. A local Muslim sheikh claimed religious incantations, and a suitable donation to his pocket, could cure the cancer. But when her symptoms persisted, Ibrahim cons...

Parsonage-Turner syndrome following post-exposure prophylaxis
Conclusion: Parsonage-Turner syndrome is a rare clinical diagnosis. The precise pathophysiological mechanism of PTS remains unclear, but it seems to involve an interaction between genetic predisposition, mechanical vulnerability and an autoimmune trigger. An immunological event, such as - in this case - a vaccination as part of PEP treatment, can trigger the onset of PTS. The clinical presentation is distinctive with acute severe pain followed by patchy paresis, atrophy and sensory symptoms that persist for months to years. No currently available tests can provide a definite confirmation or exclusion of PTS. Routine blood ...
