Long-term complications according to silicone oil type. A single center cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: We propose SO extraction as the preferred treatment for ME during SO tamponade. SO extraction should be performed sooner in younger patients to avoid emulsification. In selected patients, we suggest a longer duration of the tamponade up to 11 months with a reasonable safety profile, regardless of the SO type.PMID:37671421 | DOI:10.1177/11206721231200034

Visual outcome of treating proliferative sickle cell retinopathy in 108 eyes
CONCLUSION: Several options effectively treat PSCR. Visual outcome improved or remained same in 90.7% of treated eyes. Randomized controlled trials will determine the optimum treatment for each distinct presentation of PSCR. Clinical efficacy of sclerotonyxis for acute angle-closure glaucoma with persistent high intraocular pressure
CONCLUSIONS: Sclerotonyxis can rapidly lower IOP, release the pupillary blockage, reconstruct the anterior chamber, and reduce systemic complications caused by long-term high-dose antiglaucoma drugs. Treatment discontinuation patterns of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor in retinal vein occlusion
CONCLUSION: Over 7.5 years, treatment was discontinued for three-quarters of RVOs. Stable disease was the most common reason for discontinuation, with nearly half (45%) of all RVOs in the cohort stable off active therapy. Conclusion: The study revealed no significant difference in CVI among young smokers who smoked less than 5 packs/year compared to non-smokers.
