Synthesis of Electrical Conductive Metal-Organic Frameworks for Elelctrochemical Applications
Chem Rec. 2023 Sep 18:e202300141. doi: 10.1002/tcr.202300141. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTElectrical conductivity is very important property of nanomaterials for using wide range of applications especially energy applications. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are notorious for their low electrical conductivity and less considered for usage in pristine forms. However, the advantages of high surface area, porosity and confined catalytic active sites motivated researchers to improve the conductivity of MOFs. Therefore, 2D electrical conductive MOFs (ECMOF) have been widely synthesized by developing the effective synthetic st...

Evaluation of the lead and chromium removal capabilities of Bacillus subtilis-induced food waste compost-based biomedia
Chemosphere. 2023 Sep 17:140186. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2023.140186. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFood waste compost (FWC) is a sustainable recycling approach employed in soil media, offering extensive advantages to urban areas by promoting resource circulation and effectively managing water pollution. To improve value, Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis)-induced FWC-based biomedia (BIBMFWCs) were produced via a secondary treatment involving selective meso-thermophilic stages. During the production of BIBMFWCs, physicochemical properties were found to have favorable characteristics for the efficient removal of metal ions....

Characterization of photochemical losses of volatile organic compounds and their implications for ozone formation potential and source apportionment during summer in suburban Jinan, China
Environ Res. 2023 Sep 17;238(Pt 1):117158. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2023.117158. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVolatile organic compounds (VOCs) undergo substantial photochemical losses during their transport from emission sources to receptor sites, resulting in serious implications for their source apportionment and ozone (O3) formation. Based on the continuous measurements of VOCs in suburban Jinan in August 2022, the effects of photochemical losses on VOC source contributions and O3 formation were evaluated in this study. The observed and initial concentrations of total VOCs (TVOC) were 12.0 ± 5.1 and 16.0 ± 7.4 ppbv, re...

Characteristics of dissolved organic matter in point-source wastewaters at a petrochemical plant: Molecular constituents and contributions to the influent of wastewater treatment plant
In this study, DOM in three low-salinity point-source PCWs and four high-salinity point-source PCWs at a typical petrochemical plant were comprehensively characterized at a molecular level. Orbitrap mass spectrometry results indicated that point-source PCWs had diverse DOM constituents tightly related to the corresponding petrochemical processes. Phenols in oily wastewaters (OW), phenols and N-containing compounds in coal partial oxidation wastewater (POXW), and naphthenic acids (NAs) and aromatic acids in crude oil electric desalting unit wastewater (EDW) were characteristic DOM constituents for low-salinity point-source ...

A Unified Determinant-Preserving Formulation for Compressible/Incompressible Finite Viscoelasticity
J Mech Phys Solids. 2023 Aug;177:105312. doi: 10.1016/j.jmps.2023.105312. Epub 2023 May 19.ABSTRACTThis paper presents a formulation alongside a numerical solution algorithm to describe the mechanical response of bodies made of a large class of viscoelastic materials undergoing arbitrary quasistatic finite deformations. With the objective of having a unified formulation that applies to a wide range of highly compressible, nearly incompressible, and fully incompressible soft organic materials in a numerically tractable manner, the viscoelasticity is described within a Lagrangian setting by a two-potential mixed formulation....
