CONCLUSIONS: For healthcare providers working in outpatient healthcare settings, P4P or an increase in FFS payment level probably increases the quantity of health service provision (moderate-certainty evidence), and P4P may slightly improve the quality of service provision for targeted conditions (low-certainty evidence). The effects of changes in payment methods on health outcomes is uncertain due to very low-certainty evidence. Information to explore the influence of specific payment method design features, such as the size of incentives and type of performance measures, was insufficient. Furthermore, due to limited and ...

Irradiation of localized prostate cancer in the elderly: A systematic literature review
CONCLUSION: Due to the increase in life expectancy, the management of PC in the elderly is a challenge for patients, clinicians and health insurance payers. Except for unfit men, elderly patients remain candidates for optimal curative treatment (i.e. regardless of age) after oncogeriatric assessment. More solid data from prospective trials conducted specially in this population will provide better guidance in our daily clinical practice.PMID:35492872 | PMC:PMC9046879 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctro.2022.04.006

National HIV Testing Day
Today is National HIV Testing Day: a reminder to get tested, get re-tested and to tell everyone you know to do the same. If none of those options are appealing, you can even test yourself using products like OraQuick In-Home HIV Test, a saliva-based test that yields results in the privacy of your own home in as little as 20 minutes. Although it may seem obvious, it is important to remember why you should get tested. HIV is a treatable ...
