NAFLD increases Risk of Carotid Atherosclerosis and Ischemic Stroke. An Updated Meta-Analysis with 135,602 Individuals
CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis shows that a stepwise increment of steatosis of NAFLD can significantly increase the odds of carotid atherosclerosis and stroke development in NAFLD. Botulinum toxin treatment for oropharyngeal dysphagia in patients with stroke
Conclusions & InferencesA single injection of BTX‐A is efficacious for a period of at least 12 months in improving oropharyngeal dysphagia in stroke patients with UES opening dysfunction and some pharyngeal contraction (>25 mmHg). The aim of the present study was to confirm the long‐lasting efficacy of BTX‐A injection in the CP muscle for the treatment of neurogenic oropharyngeal dysphagia in patients with videofluoroscopic UES opening dysfunction following stroke.
