Antiphospholipid Syndrome Diagnosed as a Result of the Occurrence of an Ischemic Stroke After a Successful Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation and Continuous Direct Oral Anticoagulants
We report a case of an ischemic stroke after a successful catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) and continuous oral anticoagulation therapy with direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), which was the trigger for diagnosing antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). A 68-year-old woman underwent catheter ablation of persistent AF and continued oral anticoagulation with edoxaban at a dose of 30 mg once daily after the ablation procedure. An asymptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage was detected by brain computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging one month post-ablation. Vitamin K Antagonist Use and Risk for Intracranial Carotid Artery Calcification in Patients With Intracerebral Hemorrhage
Conclusions: Our findings do not support VKA use as an independent risk factor for higher ICAC degree in patients with ICH. We could not confirm the concerns about VKA use and intracranial carotid vascular calcification. We suggest further research in other cohorts with VKA users such as patients with ischemic stroke and atrial fibrillation.

The effects of vitamin K supplementation and vitamin K antagonists on progression of vascular calcification: ongoing randomized controlled trials
Conclusion Vitamin K deficiency may be a modifiable cardiovascular risk factor in the haemodialysis population. Conversely, vitamin K antagonists may aggravate VC burden in haemodialysis patients. Several ongoing trials may provide an answer to these questions in the near future.

Warfarin Treatment Is Associated to Increased Internal Carotid Artery Calcification
Conclusions: Long-lasting warfarin anticoagulation associated with increased calcification of carotid atherosclerotic plaques, particularly in locations known to be the predilection sites of stroke-causing plaques. The clinical significance of this novel finding warrants further investigations.

Spontaneous calcific cerebral embolization revealing a calcified rheumatic mitral stenosis: a case report
ConclusionSpontaneous calcified cerebral emboli secondary to mitral valve leaflet calcifications is an extremely rare condition. Replacement of the valve is the only option to prevent recurrent emboli and outcomes are still to be determined.
