Clinical Characteristics of Tracheobronchopathia Osteochondroplastica: A Retrospective Study of 33 Patients
CONCLUSION: TO is a slowly progressing disease with non-specific clinical symptoms and a low positive rate of imaging diagnosis, making it susceptible to misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. The disease needs to be diagnosed by combining imaging features, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and pathological findings.PMID:37601808 | PMC:PMC10438451 | DOI:10.2147/IJGM.S418394

Long-term efficacy and safety of the Dumon stent for treatment of benign airway stenosis
CONCLUSION: The efficacy and safety of the Dumon stent for benign airway stenosis need improvement. The stent is less effective for left main bronchus stenosis; regular follow-up is required in such cases. Stent placement for > 13 months and no more than once stent intervention within a 6-month period were associated with a favorable outcome.PMID:37439480 | DOI:10.1177/17534666231181269

Positive PPD Test and TB-Ab Misdiagnosed as Tuberculosis Finally Proved as Sarcoidosis by Thoracoscopy: a Case Report
CONCLUSIONS: When a patient has multiple pulmonary nodules and lymphadenopathy without obvious tuberculosis poisoning symptoms, physicians should pay attention to tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, and lung cancer. Pathology is crucial for the ultimate diagnosis.PMID:37307106 | DOI:10.7754/Clin.Lab.2022.220823

Enzyme-linked immunospot assay and metagenomic sequencing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, coagulopathy symptoms, and pancytopenia testing for characterization of pulmonary tuberculosis: case report and literature review
In this report presented, a 70-year-old female was admitted to the hospital with poor appetite, dark urine, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and bilateral lower limb edema; chest CT suggested diffuse infectious lesions in both lungs, coagulation dysfunction, and complete pancytopenia, which was initially considered to be caused by severe infection. However, the patient's symptoms did not improve by potent empiric antibiotics treatment, and a repeat chest CT showed that the lung lesions deteriorated more than before, and coagulation disorders and pancytopenia did not improve. Finally, the TB patient tested positive for enzyme-lin...

Endobronchial Actinomycosis: A Case Report
Niger J Clin Pract. 2022 Oct;25(10):1758-1761. doi: 10.4103/njcp.njcp_1357_21.ABSTRACTAn extremely rare disease with a slow course, actinomycosis has a high mortality risk when not properly treated. Pulmonary actinomycosis is clinically and radiologically analogous with tuberculosis, foreign body aspiration, lung abscess, or lung cancer. Therefore, it often causes misdiagnosis or delay in diagnosis. A 65-year-old male patient, being followed up with the diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung adenocarcinoma, was admitted to our outpatient clinic with complaints of chronic cough. On chest CT, a ca...
