Acupuncture for Post-stroke Shoulder-Hand Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Acupuncture therapy seems effective for motor function, pain relief and activities of daily living in stroke patients with mild SHS, when it is used in combination with rehabilitation. The low certainty of evidence downgrades our confidence in making recommendations to clinical practice. Effect of electroacupuncture  in patients with post-stroke motor aphasia : Neurolinguistic and neuroimaging characteristics.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study showed that the brain lesion regions in post-stroke motor aphasia were not completely consistent with the classical motor speech center. By using MRI our study results suggest that the formation of cognitive language may be involved with the cortical-subcortical functional networks. Sensorimotor Responses in Post-Stroke Hemiplegic Patients Modulated by Acupuncture at Yanglingquan (GB34): A fMRI Study Using Intersubject Functional Correlation (ISFC) Analysis
In this study, 63 ischemic stroke patients with motor dysfunction and 42 normal controls were analyzed. Three functional scans were conducted during the resting state, motor task, and acupuncture at Yanglingquan (GB34) task. Twenty-two sensory, motor, and movement-imagination cortices in the bilateral hemispheres were selected as the region of interest (ROI). We performed ISC and ISFC analyses among these ROIs in three fMRI runs on patients and controls. Subgroup analyses by course or severity were also conducted. Eye-acupuncture with rehabilitation therapy for stroke
Conclusion: The results of this study will provide present evidence on assessing effectiveness of EA combined with rehabilitation training for patients with hemiplegia in the convalescent stage of stroke. Electroacupuncture promotes motor function and functional connectivity in rats with ischemic stroke: an animal resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging study.
CONCLUSION: EA at LI11 and ST36 could enhance the functional connectivity between the left motor cortex and the motor function-related brain regions, including the motor cortex, sensory cortex and striatum, in rats. Altered Brain Regional Homogeneity Following Contralateral Acupuncture at Quchi (LI 11) and Zusanli (ST 36) in Ischemic Stroke Patients with Left Hemiplegia: An fMRI Study
ConclusionsAcupuncture at one side could stimulate bilateral regions. CAT could evoke the gyrus which was possibly related to motor recovery from stroke. A promising indicator of neurobiological deficiencies could be represented by ReHo values in post-stroke patients.

Motor function and fALFF modulation in convalescent-period ischemic stroke patients after scalp acupuncture therapy: a multi-centre randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Scalp acupuncture improved motor function in convalescent-period ischemic stroke patients, and effects were correlated with regulation of motor-relevant brain regions.
