Right Fusiform Gyrus Infarct with Acute Prosopagnosia
Acta Neurol Taiwan. 2022 Dec 30;31(4):186-187.ABSTRACTA 56-year-old, right-handed man with no known past medical history presented with sudden onset of inability to recognize familiar individuals in person, including his wife and his mother. He also couldn't recognize himself in the mirror. There was no weakness, numbness, visual disturbances, or speech difficulty. Face recognition test, using Warrington Recognition Memory Test (1), showed the presence of complete prosopagnosia. The rest of the neurological and cranial nerves examinations were normal. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain showed restricted diffusio...

E-071 Organization of a Neurointerventional Fellowship Curriculum
The objective of this report is to present a comprehensive three -tier model for a Neurointerventional didactics program. Methods The model divides an annual Neurointerventional didactic curriculum in to three tiers: Introduction to Neurointervention Series: Basic concepts of Neurointervention. Implemented during the first two months of the academic year. Faculty/speaker driven. Total 20 sessions. See Table 1. Neurointervention Core Curriculum: Implemented during months 3 to 12 of the academic year. Faculty/speaker moderated; more interactive. Total 30 sessions. See. Table 2. Neurointervention Advanced Didactics: Period...

Multicenter Accuracy and Interobserver Agreement of Spot Sign Identification in Acute Intracerebral Hemorrhage Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Accuracy for spot identification is high with opportunity for improvement in spot interpretation sensitivity and interobserver agreement particularly through greater reliance on computed tomography angiography source data and awareness of limitations of multiplanar images. Further prospective study is needed.

E-107 estimation of radiation risks for occupational and patient exposure in neuro-radiological intervention procedure
ConclusionsThe findings of this study illustrate that there are significant radiation risks for patients and operators. Implementation of dose optimization methods may reduce the patient and staff doses up to 80% of its current value. Operators training and modern equipment with pulsed fluoroscopy are the main factors for dose reduction. New applications and operators are found for neuro- radiological intervention are the main challenges in radiological protection.DisclosuresK. Alzimami: None. A. Sulieman: None.

When the Best isn't Good Enough: Venous Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Resistant to Standard Therapy
A 34 year old physiotherapist developed right sided arm pain, swelling and superficial venous dilatation after performing the butterfly stroke while training for a triathalon. His medical history was significant for a previous fracture of his right clavicle requiring plate fixation; a subsequent break in the plate required repeat internal fixation. CT angiography revealed an occlusion of the right subclavian vein at the location where a screw from his plate fixation was impinging on his thoracic outlet, consistent with venous thoracic outlet syndrome (VTOS).

Usefulness of Multiple Biomarkers for Predicting Incident Major Adverse Cardiac Events in Patients Undergoing Diagnostic Coronary Angiography (From the Catheter Sampled Blood Archive in Cardiovascular Diseases CASABLANCA Study)
We sought to develop a multiple biomarker approach for prediction of incident major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE; composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction and stroke) in patients referred for coronary angiography. In a 649-participant training cohort, predictors of MACE within one year were identified using least-angle regression; over fifty clinical variables and 109 biomarkers were analyzed. Predictive models were generated using LASSO with logistic regression. A score derived from the final model was developed and evaluated with a 278-patient validation set during a median of 3.6 years follow up.

The Impact of Formal Training and Certification on the Relationship Between Volume and Outcomes in Percutaneous Coronary Interventions
Conclusions: Our study shows that the angiographic and procedural success rates of PCI, as well as the in-hospital mortality, do not seem to be dependent on the annual volume for formally trained and certified interventional cardiologists.

‘ Take Action ’ : Dave McGillivray ’s Message To Anyone Ignoring Symptoms Of Heart Disease
BOSTON (CBS) – There aren’t many people who run their age in miles every year. Dave McGillivray does. From the time he was a boy, he’s celebrated his good health and love of running with a personal challenge that obviously gets more challenging with age. His last “full” birthday run was last year: 63 miles. This year, by necessity, he split the effort into 32 miles of running and 32 miles of biking. A feat, to be sure. But this year, he is facing a challenge for which there is no training. McGillivray, arguably one of the most fit people on the planet, has coronary artery disease and is preparing to undergo ...

Not Just Acid Reflux: The Need to Think Worst First
Discussion Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.1 This year, 720,000 Americans will have a new coronary event—defined as first hospitalized myocardial infarction (MI) or coronary heart disease death—and around 335,000 will have a recurrent event. Approximately 35% of people who experience a coronary event in a given year and around 14% of patients who have an acute coronary syndrome will die from it.1 Roughly 60% of patients with an acute coronary syndrome are transported to the emergency department via ambulance.2–4. Up to one-third of patients experiencing an MI may not complain of chest...

Multimodal Optical Diagnostics of the Microhaemodynamics in Upper and Lower Limbs
Conclusion The use of optical non-invasive diagnostic methods has a great potential for the detection of concomitant microcirculation disorders in patients with rheumatic diseases and diabetes. In this review, it was shown that the use of laser Doppler flowmetry, optical tissue oximetry and fluorescence spectroscopy together or separately may have important diagnostic value for the detection of violations, assessment of their severity, as well as for the analysis of the effectiveness of the therapy. The joint application of the considered technologies with the methods of machine learning (discriminant analysis) can be use...
