Efficacy of the anti-seizure medications in acute symptomatic neonatal seizures caused by stroke. A systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: Our review shows that the use of ASMs that act throughout a gabaergic mechanism are inadequate in controlling seizures secondary to neonatal stroke in full-term newborns. Very effective seems to be lidocaine and levetiracetam with an apparent safer profile in short and long term. Neuroprotective Effects of a Cardioplegic Combination (Adenosine, Lidocaine, and Magnesium) in an Ischemic Stroke Model
We examined the effects of low-dose ALM on ischemic stroke in cell and animal models. Cobalt chloride (CoCl2) –treated SH-SY5Y cells were used as a surrogate model to mimic oxygen–glucose deprivation conditions. The cells were incubated with different dilutions of ALM authentic solution (1.0 mM adenosine, 2.0 mM lidocaine, and5 mM MgSO4 in Earle’s balanced salt solution). ConclusionWe have found that ThP and AchA embolization are feasible and effective means for achieving cure of VOGM and tectal/thalamic AVM. Trigger Point Injection as a Rare Cause of Ischemic Stroke: A Case Report

CONCLUSION: In swine, SCG stimulation resulted in significant cerebral perfusion deficit, and this was inhibited by prior local anesthetic injection into the SCG. Diagnostic nerve block in prediction of outcome of botulinum toxin treatment for spastic equinovarus foot after stroke: A pilot retrospective observational study.
CONCLUSION: This study confirmed diagnostic nerve block as a valuable screening tool in deciding whether to treat spastic equinovarus with botulinum toxin. However, the results support the evidence that diagnostic nerve block results in a greater reduction in muscle overactivity than does botulinum toxin type A in patients with spastic equinovarus due to stroke.
