Refractory Stroke Thrombectomy: Prevalence, Etiology, and Adjunctive Treatment in a North American Cohort INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Refractory stroke thrombectomy is encountered in <10% of cases, independently associated with diabetes, and related to underlying vessel wall pathology (intracranial atherosclerotic disease and/or intracranial arterial dissection) or, less commonly, recalcitrant emboli. Emergent salvage interventions with glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors or intracranial angioplasty and/or stenting are safe and effective adjunctive treatments.

The identification of ICAS-LVO based on based on occlusion type, is a reliable and practical identification method for ICAS-LVO. 1-Year Clinical Outcomes in Women After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: Results From the First WIN-TAVI Registry
Conclusions Intermediate to high-risk women enrolled in this first ever all-women contemporary TAVR registry experienced a 1-year VARC-2 composite efficacy endpoint of 16.5%, with a low incidence of 1-year mortality and stroke. Prior revascularization and EuroSCORE I were independent predictors of the VARC-2 efficacy endpoint, whereas EuroSCORE I, baseline atrial fibrillation, and prior percutaneous coronary intervention were independent predictors of the 1-year death or stroke.

Geographical variations in left main coronary artery revascularisation: a pre-specified analysis of the EXCEL trial
CONCLUSIONS: In the EXCEL trial, the relative risks for the 30-day and five-year primary composite outcome of death, MI or stroke after PCI versus CABG were consistent irrespective of geography. However, five-year rates of IDR after PCI were significantly higher in NA centres, a finding the Heart Team and patients should consider when making treatment decisions. Differences in baseline characteristics, practice patterns and clinical outcomes in contemporary coronary artery bypass grafting in the United States and Europe: insights from the SYNTAX randomized trial and registry ADULT CARDIAC
CONCLUSIONS Repeat revascularization rates following CABG in the USA versus Europe were increased at 5 years, particularly in off-pump patients. There was no significant difference in the rate of death, stroke and MI.

Characteristics of statewide protocols for emergency medical services in the United States.
CONCLUSION: Statewide mandated EMS treatment protocols exist in 21 states, and optional model protocol guidelines are provided by 17 states. There is wide variation in the format and characteristics of these protocols and the recognition of specialty receiving centers for patients with time-sensitive illnesses. Canagliflozin Inhibits Human Endothelial Cell Proliferation and Tube Formation
In conclusion, the present study identified canagliflozin as a potent inhibitor of human EC proliferation. The anti-proliferative action of canagliflozin is observed in ECs isolated from both the venous and arterial circulation, and is partly due to the blockade of cyclin A expression. In addition, this study found that canagliflozin inhibits tube formation in cultured ECs and mouse aortic rings. Notably, these actions are specific for canagliflozin and not seen with other SGLT2 inhibitors. O-007 First US multicenter experience using the pipeline flex embolization device with shield technology for treatment of intracranial aneurysms - periprocedural outcomes and early safety profile
ConclusionOur study is the first to report the early experience with the newly FDA-approved PED Flex with Shield technology amongst US centers. Our results are comparable with non-US, international studies showing a high technical success rate and safe peri-procedural angiographic and patient outcome. Outcomes of primary percutaneous coronary intervention in acute myocardial infarction due to unprotected left main thrombosis: The Asia ‐Pacific Left Main ST‐Elevation Registry (ASTER)
ConclusionsSTEMI from culprit unprotected left main coronary artery stenosis is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Emergency PCI provides an important treatment option in this high‐risk group, but in‐hospital mortality remains high.
