Stroke Care Within the COVID-19 Pandemic —Increasing Awareness of Transient and Mild Stroke Symptoms Needed
Conclusions: During the COVID-19 pandemic, resources of the healthcare system in a primary care university hospital in Germany still allowed for unchanged numbers of recanalization procedures due to ischemic stroke. However, the numbers of patients admitted to the hospital specifically due to ischemic stroke or TIA decreased, suggesting that the awareness for non-disabling stroke symptoms has to be increased.

Structures of endovascular recanalization in Germany : Cross-sectional survey of certified stroke units 2016-2018.
Abstract In this cross-sectional study data from 299 certified stroke units (SU) in Germany were analyzed from January 2016 to December 2018 and included comprehensive stroke centers (CSC 34%), local SU (62%), and telemedical SU (4%). In a total of 2487 SU monitor beds, 251,539 cases of stroke treatment were documented. The number of monitor beds (10.8 vs. 7.2) and stroke cases per year (1143 vs. 708) were significantly higher in CSC than in local SU. Modeling the Optimal Transportation for Acute Stroke Treatment
ConclusionOur study showed a  considerable impact of the diurnal variations in traffic rate and direction of travel on optimal stroke transportation. Stroke systems of care should take real time traffic information into account.

Effectiveness of AbobotulinumtoxinA in Post-stroke Upper Limb Spasticity in Relation to Timing of Treatment
Conclusions: In this observational, routine-practice study, patients in all groups displayed a benefit from abobotulinumtoxinA treatment, supporting the effectiveness of treatment for patients at various disease stages. Although the data revealed some trends in favor of early vs. late treatment, we did not find strong evidence for a significant benefit of early vs. late start of treatment in terms of reduction in MAS scores.

Factors Associated with Failure of Reperfusion in Endovascular Therapy for Acute Ischemic Stroke

Long-term Angiographic Results of the Low-profile Acandis Acclino Stent for Treatment of Intracranial Aneurysms
ConclusionIn the present study, the Acclino was associated with a  low risk of thromboembolic complications and high aneurysm occlusion rates at long-term follow-up. Due to incomplete angiographic follow-up in this series, prospective studies will be necessary to confirm the results.
