Research progress on the effect and mechanism of Tai Ji Quan in the treatment of post-stroke depression
AbstractTo explore the clinical efficacy and possible mechanism of Tai Ji Quan for post-stroke depression (PSD), literature related to Tai Ji Quan and PSD were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Academic Journal Full-text Database (Wanfang), Chongqing VIP Database (CQVIP), China Biology Medicine Disc (CBM), and PubMed, screened and then summarized. The results showed that Tai Ji Quan could effectively improve the depression and quality of life of stroke patients, and there were differences in the clinical efficacy among different training programs. Tai Ji Quan has the characteristics of ...

Comparative efficacy of 5 non-pharmacological therapies for adults with post-stroke cognitive impairment: A Bayesian network analysis based on 55 randomized controlled trials
ConclusionsTMS and Acupuncture had a better effect on improving cognitive function in post-stroke patients according to our Bayesian NMA. However, this conclusion still needs to be confirmed with large sample size and high-quality randomized controlled trials.Registrationhttps://inplasy.com (No. INPLASY202260036).

Adaptation of melodic intonation therapy to a tone language: A pilot study of tone-rhythmic therapy in Chinese
This study developed a Chinese-specific variant of melodic intonation therapy, i.e., Tone-rhythmic therapy (TRT), and tested its efficacy in individuals with non-fluent aphasia. Methods: Six non-fluent aphasic patients were recruited; all of them were admitted to the study over six months after stroke and had received a standard program of language therapy. In the current research, tone and rhythmic training were incorporated into the training procedures, and the adaptation was then examined in patients. The TRT treatment lasted six weeks, with five fifty-minute sessions per week. The Boston Diagnostic Aphasia Examination ...

Effects of 12 Weeks of Tai Chi Chuan Intervention on the balance and ankle instability in subjects with functional ankle instability: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
This study will be a single-centre, parallel group, randomized controlled trial. Sixty-eight FAI patients will be included and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either an intervention group (n =34) or a control group (n=34). The participants in the intervention group will complete twelve weeks of TCC intervention (40min/time, 3 times/week, for 12 weeks) on the basis of health education treatment. The control group will receive health education and 36 conventional balance training sessions during a 12-week period. Outcome measures include postural stability and self-reported feelings of instability at baseline, after the ...

Relationships between care burden, resilience, and depressive symptoms among the main family caregivers of stroke patients: A cross-sectional study
ConclusionsResilience plays a mediating role in the correlation between care burden and depressive symptoms.ImpactThe findings indicated a protective effect of resilience in alleviating the negative influences of care burden on depressive symptoms, suggesting that resilience-training intervention may be developed to mitigate depressive symptoms of the main family caregivers of stroke patients.

Coaching-Based Teleoccupational Guidance for Home-Based Stroke Survivors and Their Family Caregivers: Study Protocol for a Superior Randomized Controlled Trial
Discussion. This trial will assess the effects of CTG compared with standard telerehabilitation. We believe that the results of this study will add to the understanding of occupational therapy for stroke survivors in home-based rehabilitation and provide a reference for developing health policy and facilitating other chronic management. Trial Registration Number. The Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR2200061107.PMID:36045653 | PMC:PMC9423950 | DOI:10.1155/2022/9123498
