Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine for prevention and treatment of COVID-19
CONCLUSIONS: HCQ for people infected with COVID-19 has little or no effect on the risk of death and probably no effect on progression to mechanical ventilation. Adverse events are tripled compared to placebo, but very few serious adverse events were found. No further trials of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for treatment should be carried out. These results make it less likely that the drug is effective in protecting people from infection, although this is not excluded entirely. It is probably sensible to complete trials examining prevention of infection, and ensure these are carried out to a high standard to provide un...

Micro(nano)plastics as an emerging risk factor to the health of amphibian: A scientometric and systematic review
Chemosphere. 2021 Jun 14;283:131090. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2021.131090. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAlthough the toxicity of microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) is recognized at different trophic levels, our know-how about their effects on amphibians is limited. Thus, we present and discuss the current state on studies involving amphibians and plastic particles, based on a broad approach to studies published in the last 5 years. To search for the articles, the ISI Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Scopus databases were consulted, using different descriptors related to the topic of study. After the systematic...

Prevalence of childhood anemia in Brazil: still a serious health problem. A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Childhood anaemia is still a serious public health problem in Brazil, exposing 33% of Brazilian children to the anaemia repercussions. The main limitation of the study is the estimation of national prevalence based on local surveys, but a large number of studies were included, with representation in all regions of the country, giving strength to the results. In Brazil, more public policies are needed to promote supplementation, fortification and access to healthy eating to reduce the high level of anaemia among children.PMID:34212834 | DOI:10.1017/S136898002100286X

Nursing care for patients in post-transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells: an integrative review
CONCLUSIONS: nursing care is critical, comprising patients' physical, psychological and social aspects. It occurs in hospital and home contexts, mainly involving technical actions and health guidance. The evidence identified provide subsidies for decision-making; however, most studies are of the non-experimental type, indicating the need for conducting intervention research.PMID:34259727 | DOI:10.1590/0034-7167-2020-0097
