337. Analysis of radiation exposure of the medical staff from interventional radiology procedures and evaluation of the RaySafe i2 dosimetric system
To analyze the radiation exposure of the medical staff from various interventional radiology procedures and to evaluate the RaySafe i2 real time dosimetric system.MethodsA two-stage multicentric study was conducted for about six months and involved four hospital centers. Data were collected from the RaySafe i2 dosimetric system on radiation doses absorbed by medical interventionists, nurses and patients in interventions of coronary angiography, coronary angiography followed by percutaneous transluminal coronary (PTCA), PTCA, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and implantation or pacemaker replacement (PM).

Written Observations as a Part of Computed Tomography Angiography Post Processing by Medical Radiation Technologists: A Pilot Project
Abstract: Background: A facility faced a local backlog of computed tomography angiography (CTA) results. During post processing, technologists review the CTA images and may consider pathology demonstrated. This is an excellent scenario for a clinical observation as part of an advanced practice role.Method and Materials: Five hundred seventeen CTA examinations were performed during the project period. The medical radiation technologist post processed and included observations for 78 CTA examinations. The impact on the timely release of results was considered. The analysis compared the time frame from actual scan completion ...

Medical device evaluation for operators' radiation protection in angiographic procedures of chronic total occlusion
Introduction: The purpose of this work was to evaluate the effectiveness of using a particular medical device, the RADPAD drape with femoral access, for the protection of the operators from the radiation scattered by the patient during the interventional procedures of chronic total occlusion (CTO) of the coronary artery, which entail long exposure times and high doses to patient and operators.

Endovascular treatment of a hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm using a novel pericardium covered stent
We describe the endovascular treatment of a patient with a hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm, where parent artery sacrifice was considered unacceptable. The AneuGraft PCS was used to provide immediate and complete exclusion, with dual antiplatelet therapy for 1 week, follo wed by single antiplatelet use. The procedure was a technical success, with preservation of the hepatic arteries and complete exclusion of the pseudoaneurysm. There were no complications immediately following the procedure or on post‐procedural follow‐up. The pseudoaneurysm remained excluded at 6‐week CT angiogram (CTA) follow‐up. This case describe...

Necessity of performing a routine chest radiograph following the insertion of tunnelled Hickman catheter under imaging guidance: A single centre experience
ConclusionGiven the extremely low rate of iatrogenic pneumothorax, chest radiograph following the insertion of a tunnelled Hickman catheter under ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance may be an unnecessary investigation unless the patient is symptomatic, or there is sufficient clinical concern.
