Diagnosis and Localization of Cerebrospinal Fluid Rhinorrhea: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSION: MR cisternography is more accurate than high-resolution CT at diagnosing and localizing CSF rhinorrhea. CT cisternography, contrast-enhanced MR cisternography, and radionuclide cisternography have good diagnostic characteristics but are invasive. Intrathecal fluorescein shows promising data but has not been widely adopted for purely diagnostic use. Office endoscopy has limited data but does not sufficiently diagnose CSF rhinorrhea independently. These findings confirm with current guidelines and evidence.PMID:34846218 | DOI:10.1177/19458924211060918

Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) as a local biomarker of hypertrophic changes in the synonasal mucosa in children with atopic bronchial asthma (BA) and allergic rhinitis (AR)
Conclusion: Hypertrophic changes in the nasal mucosa are accompanied by a statistically significant increase of TSLP content in the nasal secret in children with atopic BA and AR, which allows to consider this biomarker as a potential non-invasive predictor of pathological airway remodeling in patients with chronic allergic airway inflammation.

ConclusionMedicare reimbursements are complex, adjusted yearly, and undergo constant federal scrutiny due to the increasing costs of health care. These results suggest that, in terms of real dollars, rhinologic procedures have seen a large gradual decrease in Medicare reimbursement, which is important information for policymakers and surgeons alike.

Quality of life in dysphonic children measured on pediatric voice-related quality of life (pvrqol) scale in serbia
Acta Clin Croat. 2021 Mar;60(1):75-81. doi: 10.20471/acc.2021.60.01.11.ABSTRACTHoarseness occurs in children of both genders, from the earliest age and beyond, and is caused by improper use or overuse of vocal apparatus. The study included 91 hoarse children aged 6-12 (study group) and 243 healthy children (control group) of the same age. The study group underwent detailed medical history, phoniatric examination, larynx fiber endoscopy, allergy treatment, audiologic treatment, and pulmonary treatment. Pediatric Voice-Related Quality of Life questionnaire, Serbian version (PVRQOL) was completed by parents of both groups of ...
