An experiment to search for dark-matter interactions using sodium iodide detectors
An experiment to search for dark-matter interactions using sodium iodide detectors, Published online: 05 December 2018; doi:10.1038/s41586-018-0739-1Early results from the COSINE-100 experiment—designed to test a much-debated claim of the detection of a dark-matter signal—show no indications of dark matter, providing evidence against the previous claim.

The role of sodium glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors in heart failure and chronic kidney disease in type 2 diabetes.
CONCLUSIONS: CVOTs and other studies confirm that the SGLT-2 inhibitors, mostly used in combination with other glucose-lowering drugs, offer several clinical benefits beyond improved glycemic control. These include reducing HHF risk and improving renal outcomes. HF and renal benefits are observed in individuals with and without established CVD, which may simplify therapeutic selection. Ongoing SGLT-2 inhibitor CVOTs will help clarify the potential of these drugs to treat T2D comorbid with different forms of HF (HF with preserved vs reduced ejection fraction) and different degrees of renal dysfunction, and in individuals wi...

Efficacy of pentosan polysulfate for the treatment of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome: results of a systematic review of randomized controlled trials.
CONCLUSIONS: Our meta-analyses confirmed the results of preceding meta-analyses showing that PPS is efficacious compared to placebo in the treatment of bladder pain, urinary urgency and frequency of micturition and thus an evident option for the treatment of IC/BPS symptoms. Chronic heart failure: advances in pharmacological treatment and future perspectives.
Abstract Besides noticeable progress in device therapy during the past decade, more recent advances in the management of chronic heart failure have led to exciting new pharmacological options. Among these, the combined angiotensin II receptor/neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) valsartan/sacubitril has already proven highly effective in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), and convincing data are available regarding the cardioprotective effects of sodium-glucose-co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. These two treatments have earned a class I and a class II recommendation, respectively, in the European Soci...

Environmental cleaning to prevent COVID-19 infection. A rapid systematic review.
CONCLUSION: Disinfection of environments, especially those in ordinary use, such as bathrooms, needs to be done constantly. Viral inactivation was achieved using chlorine-based disinfectants, alcohol, detergents, glutaraldehyde, iodine-containing detergents, hydrogen peroxide compounds and household bleaches. Alcohol showed efficient immediate activity. In sewage, sodium hypochlorite had better action than chlorine dioxide. REGISTRATION NUMBER: DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/YC5P4 in the Open Science Framework. Effect of SGLT-2 Inhibitors on Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease among Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Systematic Review with Meta-analysis and Trial Sequential Analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials
CONCLUSIONS: This study indicated that canagliflozin effectively improves liver function parameters among patients with diabetes, while dapagliflozin is more effective in improving glycemic indices and insulin sensitivity.PMID:34239714 | PMC:PMC8246653 | DOI:10.5001/omj.2021.62

Could the use of butyric acid have a positive effect on microbiota and treatment of type 2 diabetes?
CONCLUSIONS: T2DM is a widespread chronic disease. Understanding role of microbiota in type 2 diabetes and the mechanisms connecting T2DM and alterations in gut microbiota could be the key to improved treatment of T2DM.PMID:34286509 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202107_26250
