Evaluation of serum IgE in peach-allergic patients with systemic reaction by using recombinant Pru p 7 (gibberellin-regulated protein).
CONCLUSIONS: We found that prPru p 7 exhibited reactivity in ELISA comparable to that of nPru p 7 for the diagnosis of peach allergy with systemic reaction. PMID: 29786518 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Male-Specific Submaxillary Gland Protein, a Lipocalin Allergen of the Golden Hamster, Differs from the Lipocalin Allergens of Siberian and Roborovski Dwarf Hamsters
Conclusion: MSP lipocalin of the Golden hamster was identified as an allergen, and it is different from the cross-reactive lipocalin allergens of Siberian and Roborovski hamsters. Our findings highlight the need for specific tools for the in vitro and in vivo diagnosis of allergy to different hamster species.Int Arch Allergy Immunol 2015;166:30-40

Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Gastroenteritis
Abstract Eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease (EGID) can be classified as eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) when the eosinophilia is limited to the esophagus or as eosinophilic gastritis (EG) if it is limited to the gastric tract, eosinophilic colitis (EC) if it is limited to the colon, and eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) if the eosinophilia involves one or more parts of the gastrointestinal tract. EoE is by far the most common EGID. It is a well-defined chronic atopic disease due to a T helper type 2 (Th2) inflammation triggered often by food allergens. EoE diagnosis is done if an esophageal biopsy shows at lea...

Identification and Characterization of IgE-Binding Tropomyosins in < b > < i > Aedes aegypti < /i > < /b >
Background: The mosquito Aedes aegypti is a potential source of important clinically relevant allergens. However, the allergenicity and cross-reactivity of most of these has not been fully described. Methods: Natural wild-type mosquito tropomyosin was purified by size exclusion and anionic-exchange chromatography from an A. aegypti extract. Further characterization was accomplished by MALDI-TOF/TOF. Two recombinant variants of tropomyosin were obtained by expression in Escherichia coli . Specific IgE measurement by ELISA and skin tests for mosquito extract were performed in 12 patients with asthma or allergy rhinitis ...

Identification and implication of an allergenic PR ‐10 protein from walnut in birch pollen associated walnut allergy
Conclusion: A Bet v 1‐like allergen was identified in walnut. Diagnostic use of Jug r 5 will compensate for the low sensitivity of walnut extract for patients with birch pollen associated walnut allergy. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved

Preparation and Analysis of Peanut Flour Used in Oral Immunotherapy Clinical Trials
Conclusions Peanut flour used as a drug product contains the major peanut allergens and has low levels of potentially harmful microbes. Both these parameters remain stable over a 12-month period.

Expression and Characterization of Functional Recombinant Bet v 1.0101 in the Chloroplast of < b > < i > Chlamydomonas reinhardtii < /i > < /b >
Conclusion: We could successfully produce recombinant Bet v 1 inC. reinhardtii. As microalgae are classified as GRAS (generally recognized as safe), the pilot study supports the development of novel allergy treatment concepts such as the oral administration of allergen-containing algal extracts for therapy.Int Arch Allergy Immunol 2017;173:44-50

Diagnosing Pollen-food Allergy Syndrome Allergologically in a Patient with Suspected Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis
Intern Med. 2021 Jul 17. doi: 10.2169/internalmedicine.7664-21. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPollen-food allergy syndrome (PFAS) consists of type I allergy to pollen and multiple food items that are cross-reactive to the pollen. PFAS typically occurs in the oral cavity and can co-occur with eosinophilic esophagitis. However, it is infrequently reported to present with symptoms of eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE), such as abdominal pain and eosinophilic infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract. We herein report a patient with a condition initially suspected of being EGE based on symptoms and pathological findings that ...
