This study was originally meant to examine the natural history of syphilis in those who had later stages of the disease. It was begun in a time before penicillin (introduced in 1943) was identified as an effective treatment and when there was considerable controversy about the efficacy of later-stage intervention. However, the study eventually spanned four decades, during which new treatments became available, and the subjects enrolled were often deliberately kept from receiving treatment. CONCLUSION: The quality of educational scholarship presented at a national meeting of obstetrics and gynecology educators falls within the published range for other specialties. Evolving roles of clerkship directors: have expectations changed?
CONCLUSIONS: Participant responses indicated the need for a strong partnership between department chairs and the dean's office so that clerkship directors can fulfill their responsibilities. Our results indicate a need to ensure clerkship directors have the time and resources necessary to manage clinical medical student education in an increasingly complex health care environment. Addressing Racism in Medical Education An Interactive Training Module.
DISCUSSION: Results suggest that this workshop changed knowledge and attitudes about racism and health inequities. Findings also suggest this workshop improved confidence in teaching learners to reduce racism in patient care. The authors recommend that curricula continue to be developed and disseminated nationally to equip faculty with the skills and teaching resources to effectively incorporate the discussion of racism into the education of health professionals. The development of medical MOOCs in China: current situation and challenges.
This study aimed to investigate the current situation and challenges on the development of medical massive open online courses (MOOCs) in China. A survey was constructed and the statistical analysis was adopted to evaluate the medical MOOCs. The results showed that the medical MOOC-related journal papers, conference papers, books and dissertations have risen dramatically over the past five years. In addition, the top 6 most representative MOOC platforms provide the majority (87%) of medical courses.
