The Application of 18F-FES PET in Clinical Cancer Care: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSIONS: [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is not only a convenient and accurate diagnostic imaging tool for detecting ER-expressing lesions in patients with breast and ovarian cancer but also among patients with uterine cancer. [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is a noninvasive predictive and monitoring tool for treatment response and prognosis.PMID:37482660 | DOI:10.1097/RLU.0000000000004760

Vaginal Estrogen for Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause: A Systematic Review
ABSTRACT: Local vaginal estrogen therapy is effective treatment for atrophic vaginitis and other symptoms associated with genitourinary syndrome of menopause. However, only about half of the women reporting symptoms seek medical attention. Patients are hesitant to use vaginal estrogens despite evidence of efficacy. This hesitancy demonstrates the need for an updated comprehensive review of the efficacy and safety of both vaginal estrogens and alternatives for treating patients with genitourinary syndrome of menopause to help health care providers and patients choose the most appropriate treatment. The aim of this systemati...

Research development of a new GnRH antagonist (Elagolix) for the treatment of endometriosis: a review of the literature
ConclusionGnRH antagonists may have the advantage of oral administration and lower incidence of adverse events. Currently, only Phase II studies have been published demonstrating promising results in terms of efficacy, safety, and tolerability. From the results of the phase III studies, elagolix may become a valuable addition to the armamentarium of pharmacological agents to treat endometriosis-related pain.

Primary Empty Sella Syndrome and the Prevalence of Hormonal Dysregulation.
CONCLUSION: The data on PES as an incidental finding are too sparse to enable any evidence-based recommendation on the potential indications for hormone testing or its nature and extent. We advise basic neuroendocrinological testing (fasting cortisol, free thyroxine [fT4], estradiol or testosterone, insulin-like growth factor 1 [IGF-1], and prolactin). There is an unexplained discrepancy between the reported high prevalence of pituitary insufficiency among persons with PES and its low prevalence in epidemiologic studies. We suspect that the former may be high because of selection bias in the publications that we reviewed, ...

A Novel lncRNA Regulates the Toll-Like Receptor Signaling Pathway and Related Immune Function by Stabilizing FOS mRNA as a Competitive Endogenous RNA
In conclusion, our study shows that the novel lncRNA- XLOC_098131 plays a key role in the molecular mechanism underlying the immune function mediated by DA. This study provides new insight into the molecular mechanisms through which DA affects the Toll-like receptor signaling pathway-related immune response and the mechanisms through which lncRNAs regulate mRNA expression. As direct target genes, miR-548s plays important roles in mediating the regulation of FOS by the lncRNA- XLOC_098131 to affect immunity. These data constitute high-quality resources for future genome and functional research. Ethics Statement The experi...

The Current Evidence on the Association Between the Urinary Microbiome and Urinary Incontinence in Women
This study also found that Proteus DNA, a genus with many uropathogenic species (Drzewiecka, 2016), was more prevalent in women with OAB compared to asymptomatic controls (Curtiss et al., 2017). IC A recent study by Abernethy et al. suggested that the microbiome may play a role in IC (Abernethy et al., 2017). In this study, 16S rRNA analysis determined the microbiome of catheterized urine from women (n = 40) with IC was not dominated by a single genus and was less likely to contain Lactobacillus compared to asymptomatic women. Abernethy et al. also showed that L. acidophilus was associated with less severe scores on the ...
