My 28 Days - a global digital women ’s health initiative for evaluation and management of secondary amenorrhea: case report and literature review
We report the case of a young African woman who developed acute secondary amenorrhea at age 18. Subsequently, she experienced a 10-year delay in the diagnosis of the underlying cause. A global digital medical hub focused on women’s health and secondary amenorrhea could reduce the chance of such mismanagement. Such a hub would establish more efficient information integration and exchange processes to better serve patients, family caregivers, health care providers, and investigators. Here, we show proof of concept for a global digital medical hub for women’s health. First, we describe the physiological control systems th...

Clinical trials in menopause
Conclusions:The available literature suggests that HT is a viable option for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women. Newer trials will likely verify this assessment. If this is enough to change clinical practice, however, remains to be seen given the general fear of HT by many with prescriptive authority, and also the women in our care. Objective: Clinical trials in menopause have undergone much scrutiny over the years. This has led to significant shifts in the treatment of symptomatic menopause and a substantial impact on women. Long-term monitoring of egg-laying cycle using ultrasonography reveals the reproductive dynamics of circulating sex steroids in an oviparous catshark, Scyliorhinus torazame
Gen Comp Endocrinol. 2022 Jun 13:114076. doi: 10.1016/j.ygcen.2022.114076. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe many diverse reproductive strategies of elasmobranchs (sharks, skates and rays) from lecithotrophic oviparity to matrotrophic viviparity have attracted significant research attention. However, the endocrine control of elasmobranch reproduction is less well-documented largely due to their reproductive characteristics, such as a long reproductive cycle, and/or repeated internal fertilization using stored sperm in oviparous species. In the present study, for the first time, we succeeded in non-invasive monitoring of th...
