Quit smoking search interest in Google Trends from Turkey, UK, France, Italy, and Germany: What happened during the COVID-19 pandemic?
We aimed to evaluate whether Google search interest for smoking cessation has changed from 2018-2019 to 2020, during the pandemic days.Google trends search interest was examined for 2018, 2019, and 2020. Relative Search Volume Interest (RSV) for the term "quit smoking" was obtained from Google Trends. Statistics were given as median (IQR), and statistical analyses performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. Kocuria kristinae: an emerging pathogen in medical practice.
Conclusions. The clinical spectrum of K. kristinae infections has recently widened. The increasing spread of this underestimated bacterium and its resistance to antibiotics represent a new challenge for public health, which requires specific actions to limit it. Changing Attitudes of Medical Students Regarding Organ Donation from a University Medical School in Turkey.
CONCLUSIONS During six years of training in a university medical school in Turkey, there was only a slight increase in the number of students who were willing to become organ donors and there was a lack of formal education regarding organ donation. The knowledge level and perceptions towards COVID-19 among Turkish final year medical students.
CONCLUSION: We determined that final year medical students are knowledgeable and aware of this pandemic. We, medical educators, should inculcate relevant knowledge and educate the medical students to improve practices in the current pandemic, as well as for future epidemics. Cadaver versus Simulator Based Arthroscopic Training in Shoulder Surgery.
CONCLUSION: To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first one to compare VR Simulators with cadavers for surgical education in an objective manner, while using qualitative and quantitative data. According to this study, it is possible to state that VR Simulators are just as effective as cadavers in means of training subjects. As medical education will face a total change all around the world after the COVID-19 pandemic, this study has the potential to be an important guide during and after this period. Evaluation of the Opinions and Knowledge of Medical School Students on Organ Donation and Transplantation
CONCLUSION: As medical students progress through the grade levels, their perceptions and knowledge of organ donation and transplantation also increase positively.
