Efficacy of convalescent plasma according to blood groups in COVID-19 patients.
Conclusion: In our study, it was observed that the efficiency of CP without anti-A antibody was lower than that of plasma containing anti-A antibody, although it was not statistically significant. This result is thought to be due to the anti-A antibody's ability to block the ACE2 receptor. We believe that this hypothesis should be investigated in controlled studies with higher patient numbers. Characteristics and Mortality Determinants of COVID-19 Patients Undergoing Haemodialysis.
CONCLUSION: COVID-19 infection is associated with increased mortalit in chronic kidney diseases patients. Emergency department extracorporeal membrane oxygenation may also include non-cardiac arrest patients.
CONCLUSIONS: In the early phase of ECMO, vital signs improve, and the need for vasopressors and carbon dioxide levels decreases. Thus, Critical Care Units in Emergency Departments with ECMO capabilities could potentially be designed, and emergency department ECMO algorithms could be tailored for critically ill in addition to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients. The prognostic value of a proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL) serum levels in treatment-naive patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
CONCLUSION: sAPRIL, a simple, promising blood test, which can be measured by ELISA, will seemingly attain a place in the wide range of prognostic markers in CLL. Prospective large-scale studies are required to validate and confirm the feasibility of the proposed cut-off level of 2.04 ng/ml as a predictor of time to treatment in treatment naive CLL patients. Lateral frontal galeal-cutaneous flap for reconstruction after orbital exenteration for advanced periorbital skin cancer.
CONCLUSION: The preferred method for reconstruction after orbital exenteration in our university affiliated center is lateral frontal galeal-cutaneous flap based on superficial temporal artery. The flap harvesting is simple, safe and obtains enough tissue for covering defects even after extended exenteration. Complication rate is low. We suggest the simultaneous use of this flap with pedicle temporalis muscle flap only for reconstruction of scull base after anterior cranial fossa resection.
