Webinar-based continuing medical education in otorhinolaryngology during the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany: a longitudinal study
Conclusions Although the pandemic context likely influenced the results, we conclude that periodic ear, nose and throat webinar training during COVID-19 in 2020 was an effective alternative delivery method. We found high attention rates, high levels of participant satisfaction and low costs. Evaluations and re-evaluations will be necessary to adapt teaching concepts successfully and ensure high levels of teaching and learning efficiency.

Digital medical education and students ’ mental health: effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany
This study aims to examine the consequent changes in medical school curricula alongside students’ mental and physical health. It is observed that 549 medical students (response rate: 79.7%) from 31 of 37 public medical schools in Germany completed a cross-sectional online survey. Students answered questions regarding teaching, internet use, COVID-19 and well-being. A multivariate logistic regression examined factors associated with depressed mood, insomnia and headache. Mental burden and perception of the study situation among undergraduate students during the COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study and comparison of dental and medical students
Conclusion The results suggest that high mental burden and the lack of practical training among medical and dental students is an increasing problem, with a possibly even higher urgency in dental students. Tailored psychological and educational support offers during and after the COVID-19 pandemic might help them as they progress through (medical and) dental school.

Quit smoking search interest in Google Trends from Turkey, UK, France, Italy, and Germany: What happened during the COVID-19 pandemic?
We aimed to evaluate whether Google search interest for smoking cessation has changed from 2018-2019 to 2020, during the pandemic days.Google trends search interest was examined for 2018, 2019, and 2020. Relative Search Volume Interest (RSV) for the term "quit smoking" was obtained from Google Trends. Conclusions: The lockdowns affected students in more ways than simply their teaching formats. Students require individual support to adjust to difficult situations, and particularly medical students in their preclinical phase compared to students in their clinical phases. These are challenges for the medical education system, which must find ways to be prepared for future times of crisis and insecurity.
