Impaired force control contributes to car steering dysfunction in chronic stroke.
Conclusion: Stroke impairs the steering ability of the paretic hand. Although grip strength and force control of the paretic hand are diminished after stroke, only grip force control predicts steering accuracy. Abstract 235: Acute Care Measures of Rehabilitation Needs Associated with Discharge to Rehabilitation for Patients with Minor Stroke Poster Session II
Conclusions: Rehabilitation needs were documented for patients with minor stroke and almost one third were discharged to receive inpatient rehabilitation in an IRF or SNF. Taking pre-stroke disability into consideration for transition planning from acute care could facilitate earlier communication and planning with the next point of care.

Predictors of return to work after stroke: a prospective, observational cohort study with 6 months follow-up.
Conclusions: Less than 50% of stroke survivors returned to work six months after stroke. Among predictors, only the level of dependence in daily activities is a modifiable factor. Interventions aimed at reducing disability after stroke might increase rates of return to work. ACT-FAST: a quality improvement project to increase the percentage of acute stroke patients receiving intravenous thrombolysis within 60 minutes of arrival at the emergency department.
CONCLUSION: The interventions resulted in an increasing but non-significant trend of acute stroke patients receiving thrombolysis within 60 minutes. Outcomes will be monitored for a longer duration to demonstrate trends and sustainability.

CONCLUSIONS: Individuals with stroke in a developing country considered aerobic exercise important. However, they perceived barriers related to safety, individual ability, social support, and aerobic exercise.
