Medical Marijuana for Epilepsy?
Conclusion For those whose seizures remain uncontrolled without alternative conventional interventions available, medical marijuana has received anecdotal support, but only on an empirical basis. There is a dearth of controlled scientific investigations reported on cannabidiol as an epilepsy control medication. Reportedly, there is no evidence for interactions between CBD and approved anticonvulsant drugs.13 The varied legal status of marijuana, unregula...

The Integration of Medical Toxicology and Addiction Medicine: a New Era in Patient Care.

Unprofessional behaviour on social media by medical students.
CONCLUSIONS: Social media use was nearly universal in the surveyed cohort. Posting of unprofessional content was highly prevalent despite understanding that this might be considered inappropriate, and despite awareness of professionalism guidelines. Medical educators should consider approaches to this problem that involve more than simply providing guidelines or policies, and students should be regularly prompted to evaluate and moderate their own online behaviour. Do general practitioners record alcohol abuse in the electronic medical records? A comparison of survey and medical record data.
CONCLUSIONS: This study found that 11.1% of the total patient sample reported an alcohol use disorder, of which a strikingly low number of patients were recorded as such by their GP. It is likely that low recognition due to barriers related to alcohol screening as well as registration avoidance due to the stigma around alcohol abuse, play a role in low registration.
