Antioxidant vitamins supplementation reduce endometriosis related pelvic pain in humans: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The included studies support the potential role of antioxidant vitamins in the management of endometriosis. Supplementation with antioxidant vitamins effectively reduced the severity of dysmenorrhea, improved dyspareunia and pelvic pain, and enhanced quality of life in these patients. Curr Pharm Biotechnol. 2023 Aug 21. doi: 10.2174/1389201024666230821122416. Interventions for chronic kidney disease in people with sickle cell disease
CONCLUSIONS: We are unsure if hydroxyurea improves glomerular filtration rate or reduces hyperfiltration in children aged nine to 18 months, but it may improve their ability to concentrate urine and may make little or no difference to the incidence of acute chest syndrome, painful crises, and hospitalisations. We are unsure if ACEI compared to placebo has any effect on preventing or reducing kidney complications in adults with normal blood pressure and microalbuminuria. We are unsure if ACEI compared to vitamin C has any effect on preventing or reducing kidney complications in children with normal blood pressure and microa...

J Educ Teach Emerg Med. 2021 Oct 15;6(4):V6-V8. doi: 10.21980/J89H1X. eCollection 2021 Oct.ABSTRACTWhile rare, scurvy is a disease the emergency physician should continue to consider in the differential of bruising and joint pain. Although these symptoms are nonspecific, the astute physician should remain open-minded even when scurvy is not likely to be seen in an economically stable country. The diagnosis of scurvy can be made alone by a thorough history, but radiologic studies and pertinent labs also hel...
