Study the Value of Interleukin-6 As Diagnostic and Predictive marker of Cardiac Events in St Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction
ConclusionFrom this current study we revealed that: STEMI patients have increased level of interleukin-6 compared to those normal persons. Interleukin-6 may be a potentially useful marker for diagnosis of STEMI. Interleukin-6 may be helpful prognostic value for future cardiac mortality in STEMI patients. The level of interleukin-6 is not affected by the extent of myocardial damage and necrosis. Interleukin-6 is an inflammatory cytokine.Recommendations From this study we recommend the use of interleukin-6 level as good diagnostic marker for diagnosis of ST segment elevation myocardial infarction, Also this study recommend t...

Electrophysiological ventricular substrate of stroke: a prospective cohort study in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study
Conclusions PVC burden (reflected by cardiac memory) is associated with ischaemic stroke. Transient cardiac memory (likely through TD-IBBB) precedes ICH.

Sensors, Vol. 21, Pages 5302: Automatic Detection of Short-Term Atrial Fibrillation Segments Based on Frequency Slice Wavelet Transform and Machine Learning Techniques
uang Zhou Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most frequently encountered cardiac arrhythmia and is often associated with other cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as ischemic heart disease, chronic heart failure, and stroke. Automatic detection of AF by analyzing electrocardiogram (ECG) signals has an important application value. Using the contaminated and actual ECG signals, it is not enough to only analyze the atrial activity of disappeared P wave and appeared F wave in the TQ segment. Moreover, the best analysis method is to combine nonlinear features analyzing ventricular activity based on the detection ...

B-po02-045 utility of a smartphone connected electrocardiogram recorder for detecting atrial fibrillation in post-stroke patients
Atrial fibrillation is one of the important causes of ischemic stroke. Routine 24-hour monitoring reveals latent atrial fibrillation in up to about 5% of cases. Despite the fact that today there are many ways to record heart rate, there is no precise algorithm that allows to detect atrial fibrillation in patients who have survived ischemic stroke of unknown etiology.

Prognostic Significance of Fragmented QRS in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke
Stroke is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity in developed countries1 and has a strong relationship with cardiovascular system disorders.2 Due to this relationship, the connection between brain and heart has become increasingly important and neurocardiology has emerged as a popular concept over the recent years.3 Electrocardiographic abnormalities and various cardiac arrhythmias occurring especially after stroke support this phenomenon.4 ST segment and/or T-wave abnormalities without myocardial ischemia,5 left axis deviation, QT prolongation,6 QT dispersion,7 atrial fibrillation (AF), sinus tachycardia, ventricular ...

Detection of occult atrial fibrillation with 24-hour ECG after cryptogenic acute stroke or transient ischaemic attack: A retrospective cross-sectional study in a primary care database in Israel
CONCLUSION: 24-hour Holter has a low AF/AFL detection rate. Older persons and those with hypertension or CKD are more likely to be detected with AF/AFL using this method.PMID:34240675 | DOI:10.1080/13814788.2021.1947237

Relationship of electrocardiographic changes and severity of acute cerebral ischemic stroke in old patients: A clinical observational study
This study was aim to provide referential data for this topic. Totally 200 old patients with acute CIS in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were included into this study. According to the ST-T segment changes in ECG, these patients were divided into 3 groups: persistent ischemic group (n = 38), transient ischemic group (n = 106) and non-ischemic group (n = 56). The characteristics and incidence of abnormal ECG and their relationship with disease severity, infarct size and prognosis were respectively analyzed under the severe, moderate and mild type of disease. The ECG changes of patients wer...

Predictive value of left atrial function for latent paroxysmal atrial fibrillation as the cause of embolic stroke of undetermined source
CONCLUSIONS: LA strain was significantly associated with new development of AF. Patients with impaired LA function at admission should be carefully monitored to find AF.PMID:34119401 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2021.05.005
