Burden and attributable risk factors of ischemic stroke in China from 1990 to 2019: an analysis from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019
ConclusionOur study revealed that great changes have occurred in burden and attributable risk factors of ischemic stroke in China in the past three decades. Distinct sex-specific differences are observed in burden and attributable risk factors.

A feasibility and safety study of afamelanotide in acute stroke patients – an open label, proof of concept, phase iia clinical trial
Neuroprotective agents have the potential to improve the outcomes of revascularisation therapies in acute ischemic stroke patients (AIS) and in those unable to receive revascularisation. Afamelanotide, a synth...

The Association of the Spatial Location of Contrast Extravasation with Symptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage after Endovascular Therapy in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients
Conclusion The spatial location of CE on NCCT immediately after EVT was an independent and strong risk factor for sICH in acute ischemic stroke patients.PMID:37488759 | DOI:10.2174/1567202620666230721101413

Stroke in mitral valve prolapse: risk factors and left atrial function in cryptogenic versus non-cryptogenic ischemic subtypes
ConclusionsMVP-related MR may be protective against stroke despite abnormal LA function. Risk of NC-stroke in MVP is related to common stroke risk factors rather than mitral valve leaflet thickness. The etiology of C-stroke in MVP warrants further studies.

Association between lipoprotein(a) and ischemic stroke: Fibrinogen as a mediator
Previous studies have reported lipoprotein(a) was related to increased risk of ischemic stroke. However, the role of fibrinogen in their associations was not fully elucidated.

Association Between Thrombectomy and Functional Outcomes in Pediatric Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke From LVO
This case-control study evaluates whether pediatric patients with acute large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke who undergo thrombectomy have better clinical outcomes than matched patients managed conservatively.

Long-term behavioural alterations in mice following transient cerebral ischemia
The objective of this study was to clarify whether and to what extent mouse behaviour was altered during a 6 months period after cerebral stroke. Experimental stroke was induced in mice by intraluminal filament insertion into the middle cerebral artery (fMCAo). Neurological deficits, recovery rate, motor performance, and circadian activity were evaluated following ischemia. We observed severe neurological deficits, motor impairments, and delay in the recovery rate of mice during the first 14 days after fMCAo. Aberrant circadian activity and distorted space map were seen in fMCAo mice starting one month after ischemia, simi...
