Monitoring strategy of COVID-19 vaccination in dialysis patients based on a multiplex immunodot method: The CovidDial study
CONCLUSION: Three doses of mRNA-1273 vaccine induce a robust but time-limited immunologic response in dialysis patients. Lower anti-spike antibodies titers after initial vaccination are associated with a higher risk to subsequently contract SARS-CoV-2, even beyond 6 months.PMID:37718617 | DOI:10.1111/sdi.13175

The impact of the early COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare system resource use and costs in two provinces in Canada: An interrupted time series analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Reduced utilization of healthcare services in the overall population outweighed utilization by COVID-19 patients in 2020. Meeting the needs of all patients across all services is essential to maintain resilient healthcare systems.PMID:37682823 | DOI:10.1371/journal.pone.0290646

Epidemiological analysis over two years of SARS-CoV-2 circulation in southern Brazil: old and novel predictors of COVID-19 outcome
In conclusion, our results contribute to current knowledge by demonstrating that factors described at different times remain associated with COVID-19 over the pandemic and by identifying novel predictors of COVID-19 outcome.PMID:37659686 | DOI:10.1016/j.actatropica.2023.107007

Preparation, Purification and Performance Evaluation of Polyclonal Antibody Against SARS-CoV-2 Produced in Rat
CONCLUSION: Herein, we presented a simple and cheap method for the purification of whole viral particles with relatively high quality. The results verified that these antigens could elicit a good immune response in the rat. The obtained pAbs showed a good specificity toward SARS-CoV-2 antigens. Accordingly, this study proposes a promising method for viral vaccine development.PMID:37646054 | PMC:PMC10460799 | DOI:10.34172/apb.2023.059

REIN: a tool at the service of health monitoring, exemple of the SARS-Cov-2
Nephrol Ther. 2023 Aug 28;18(S2):85-89. doi: 10.1016/S1769-7255(22)00575-2.ABSTRACTOn the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the REIN (French Renal Epidemiology and Information Network), a summary work on the contributions of the national French ESKD register was carried out. On the issue of its role in health monitoring, the following key messages were retained. The recent health crisis showed the adaptability and agility of the registry. Thanks to a human network that has been established and organised for many years, and the possibility of rapidly developing the collection system, the registry was able to provide infor...
