Matrix Gla Protein Species and Risk of Cardiovascular Events in Type 2 Diabetic Patients.
CONCLUSIONSHigh dp-ucMGP levels were associated with increased CVD risk among type 2 diabetic patients, especially with the subtypes PAD and heart failure, while other MGP species were not related to CVD risk. Increased Risk of Cognitive Impairment in Patients With Diabetes Is Associated With Metformin.
CONCLUSIONSMetformin use was associated with impaired cognitive performance. Vitamin B12 and calcium supplements may alleviate metformin-induced vitamin B12 deficiency and were associated with better cognitive outcomes. Prospective trials are warranted to assess the beneficial effects of vitamin B12 and calcium use on cognition in older people with diabetes who are taking metformin. Is vitamin E supplementation effective in reducing mortality related to cardiovascular events in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus? A systematic review
Conclusions Although, two studies showed no benefit from vitamin E supplementation, the remaining studies demonstrated that vitamin E supplementation provided cardiovascular benefits in a specific diabetic subpopulation. The study population that derived a favorable outcome from vitamin E supplementation consisted of diabetic patients with the Hp 2–2 genotype. Hence, further studies should be conducted in diabetic populations with the Hp 2–2 genotype for identifying the definitive effects of vitamin E.

The relationship between dietary intake and other cardiovascular risk factors with blood pressure in individuals without a history of a cardiovascular event: Evidence based study with 5670 subjects
Conclusion In our representative population from North-Eastern Iran, it appears that in adults without a history of cardiovascular disease, crude or energy adjusted intake of phosphorus and total fatty acid intake were significant determinants of BP, however we found no association between sodium and potassium intake with BP.

Association between serum 25(OH)D3 and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in people with Type 2 diabetes: a community ‐based cohort study
ConclusionsLow 25(OH)D3 is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in people with Type 2 diabetes independent of parathyroid hormone. Vitamin D could be considered as a prognostic factor. Future studies are needed to explore whether vitamin D deficiency is a modifiable risk factor in Type 2 diabetes.

Serum vitamin E as a significant prognostic factor in patients with dyslipidemia disorders
ConclusionWe found that vitamin E profile was significantly lower in the dyslipidemia subjects. It is generally suggested that vitamin E monitoring might be used as a useful prognostic and therapeutic agent in dyslipidemia disorder.
