Migraine with Visual aura and the Risk of Stroke- a Narrative Review
Patients with migraine with visual aura (MwvA) often present to eye care providers for evaluation. A thorough ophthalmological history and examination is needed to exclude ophthalmologic disorders. Additionally, it has been increasingly recognized that MwvA is associated with ischemic stroke (IS). The aim of this narrative review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the differential diagnosis of MwvA and its association with IS.

Intravenous Thrombolysis in Posterior Circulation Stroke
Conclusions: Up to date, no data about PCIS and IVT are available from RTCs. Based on limited results from retrospective clinical studies and case series, IVT is safer for use in PCIS than in ACIS. Patients with brainstem ischemia, vertebral artery occlusion, and absence of basilar or posterior cerebral artery occlusion could be considered for treatment with IVT even in borderline cases. Time to IVT in PCIS seems to be a less crucial factor than in ACIS. IVT for PCIS may be beneficial even after 4.5 h from symptom onset. Stroke Awareness In Outpatients. (P2.302)
CONCLUSIONS: General knowledge about CVRF is still insufficient in the outpatient population, even when assessed in the cardiology or neurology clinic. We believe that increased knowledge about stroke in outpatients, compared to inpatients, is due to higher educational level and a higher amount of family members with a history of stroke. Presenting Symptoms for the Identification of Acute Stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack in the Emergency Department (P01.241)
CONCLUSIONS: Whether the Patients were diagnosed as definite stroke or not was significantly associated with presenting symptoms of our UTPS code system. The proper selection of presenting symptom for assessment tool used by emergency department staff may be important to improve its performance in acute stroke response system.Disclosure: Dr. Cho has nothing to disclose. Headache at the Chronic Stage of Ischemic Stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Headache in ischemic stroke survivors at the chronic stage is more frequent in women and in patients with pre-stroke headache. It is most frequently a headache with different characteristics of the pre-stroke headache and only rarely a new-onset headache starting at the acute stage and persisting at the chronic stage. Relation of post-stroke headachto cerebrovascular pathology and hemodynamics
In conclusion, post-stroke headache is a common phenomenon, especially in patients with pre-stroke headache, history of old stroke, posterior circulation infarction, and large artery disease. This headache was of moderate-intensity with clinical characteristics of tension-type. Intra-cranial cerebrovascular pathological changes including opening of collateral channels and variable degrees of stenosis of cerebrovascular systems were implicated in the production of that headache.PMID:35950474 | DOI:10.5114/fn.2022.116962
