Intermountain chronic disease risk score (ICHRON) validation for prediction of incident chronic disease diagnoses in an australian primary prevention population.
CONCLUSION: ICHRON predicted ChrD diagnosis at 3-years among an external, geographically distant validation cohort. These findings show the value of ICHRON for primary care patients in distinct locales. Additionally, electronic calculation of ICHRON empowers the clinical use of this tool to identify and differentially manage and treat high-risk patients. Multiple Peri-Operative Complications are Associated with Reduced Long Term Amputation Free Survival Following Revascularisation for Lower Limb Peripheral Artery Disease: A Population Based Linked Data Study.
CONCLUSION: Multiple complications after surgery for lower limb PAD carried a compounding risk of reduced long term amputation free survival. Patients experiencing at least one complication form a high risk group that requires increased attention to prevent the potential development of further complications. Correlation Between Intracranial Arterial Calcification and Imaging of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease
Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. Presence of diabetic retinopathy is associated with worse 10 ‐year mortality among Indigenous Australians in Central Australia: The Central Australian ocular health study
Conclusion and RelevanceThe presence of any DR among those with DM, was associated with a 75% greater 10 ‐y all‐cause mortality rate and were more likely to die from renal failure or stroke. We recommend that whenever DR is noted among Indigenous Australians with DM, that they be immediately referred for investigation and management of risk factors, which might predispose to renal failure and strok e.

Heat-Related Mortality in Japan after the 2011 Fukushima Disaster: An Analysis of Potential Influence of Reduced Electricity Consumption
Conclusions: In the prefectures with the greatest reductions in electricity consumption, heat-related mortality decreased rather than increased following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
