Clinical phenotype of obstructive sleep apnea in older adults: a hospital-based retrospective study in China
ConclusionsThe presence of OSA in older adults was associated with significant abnormalities of sleep architecture, aggravated nocturnal hypoxia and increased risks of hypertension, CAD, and stroke, which can be distinguished as a unique clinical phenotype.

Open surgical replacement of the descending aorta: single-center experience
ConclusionsThis study showed that the elective open surgical replacement of the descending aorta can be achieved with excellent outcomes in terms of perioperative mortality and morbidity. Prosthetic graft is not a problem with open surgical descending aortic replacement, even in the long term.

Osteoporotic fracture admissions compared to other major medical admissions in Irish public hospitals
ConclusionOsteoporotic fractures represent a large and rapidly increasing illness burden amongst older Irish adults, with substantial care requirements and the resulting onus on our healthcare system. Urgent action is needed to address this public health issue and the services for those at risk of fracture.
