Abstract Endothelial calcium/calmodulin-gated K channels of small (KCa2.3) and intermediate conductance (KCa3.1) produce membrane hyperpolarization and endothelium-dependent hyperpolarization (EDH)-mediated vasodilation. Dysfunctions of the two channels and ensuing EDH impairments are found in several cardiovascular pathologies such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, postangioplastic neointima formation, but also inflammatory disease, cancer, and organ fibrosis. ConclusionHigh levels of NT‐proBNP determined during the first 3 months after a TIA were associated with AF. Consequently, this biomarker may be useful to reclassify undetermined TIA patients as having disease of CE.

Calcified Amorphous Tumor Causing Shower Embolism to the Brain: A Case Report with Serial Echocardiographic and Neuroradiologic Images and a Review of the Literature
An 89-year-old woman with chronic atrial fibrillation, hypertension, chronic heart failure, and dementia was admitted to our hospital due to multiple small cerebral and cerebellar infarctions. Transthoracic echocardiogram revealed a floating calcified mass lesion arising from the endocardium of the posterior portion of the mitral annulus with mitral annular calcification. Furthermore, the mass had a heterogeneity of the echogenicity. The mass was diagnosed as a calcified amorphous tumor based on specific echocardiographic features.

Intra-and peritumoral hemorrhage in the meningioma of a nonagenarian due to administration of direct oral anticoagulants after mechanical thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: Peritumoral edema representing a pial blood supply might be a significant factor associated with intracranial hemorrhage due to DOAC administration in patients with meningioma.
