Enhancing Diagnostic Accuracy for Lung Cancer through Combined Detection of Multiple Tumor Markers
CONCLUSIONS: CYFRA21-1 combined with CEA assists in diagnosing LADC, CYFRA21-1 combined with SCCAg assists in diagnosing LSCC, and CA153 assists in diagnosing SCLC. These four serum tumor markers can be used to aid in diagnosing LC and differentiating its pathological types.PMID:37632966

Effect of neoadjuvant therapy on serum transforming growth factor- β, squamous cell carcinoma associated antigen, and prognosis in patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 May 31;69(5):112-118. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.5.18.ABSTRACTIt was to explore the effect of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) on serum-related indicators and prognosis of patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer (EC). 400 EC patients were grouped as controls (295 cases, radical EC resection alone) and research group (105 cases, NAT plus radical EC resection). The levels of serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and cytokeratin 19 fragment antigen 21-1 (CYFRA21-1), programmed death-1 (PD-1), PD-2, transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), and squamous ...

Clinical characteristics of hypersensitivity pneumonitis: non-fibrotic and fibrotic subtypes
CONCLUSIONS: Older age, <20% of lymphocyte in BAL, and ≥1.75% of eosinophil in BAL were risk factors associated with the development of FHP. Prognosis of patients with NFHP was better than that of patients with FHP. These results may provide insights into the mechanisms of fibrosis in HP.PMID:37464421 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002613

Preparation of injectable hydrophilic dextran/AgNPs nanocomposite product: White light active biomolecules as an antitumor agent
Int J Biol Macromol. 2023 Jun 5:125215. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2023.125215. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIncidence of various cancers including melanoma continues to rise worldwide. While treatment options have expanded in the recent years, the benefit of these treatments suffer from short period of duration for many patients. Hence, new treatment options are highly desired. Here, we propose a method combining a Dextran/reactive-copolymer/AgNPs nanocomposite and a harmless visible light approach to obtain a plasma substitute carbohydrate-based nanoproduct (D@AgNP) that shows strong antitumor activity. Light-driven polysa...

Diagnostic Value of Seven Autoantibodies Combined with CEA and CA199 in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: The diagnostic efficiency was enhanced by a combination of 7-AABs, CEA, and CA199 in NSCLC, which was helpful in the screening of NSCLC.PMID:37145062 | DOI:10.7754/Clin.Lab.2022.220728

Clinical characteristics and laparoscopic surgical outcomes of ovarian dermoid cysts complicated by spontaneous rupture: nine cases and a literature review
CONCLUSION: Combined use of CT imaging and elevated levels of CRP, CA125, CA19-9, and SCC may help to differentiate cyst rupture from torsion. Laparoscopic surgery may be a feasible option; however, prompt laparotomic conversion should be considered in cases with difficult adhesiolysis. Refractory chemical peritonitis may occur after successful surgical management.PMID:37138472 | DOI:10.1177/03000605231171023

Identification of EGFR mutation status in male patients with non-small-cell lung cancer: role of < sup > 18 < /sup > F-FDG PET/CT and serum tumor markers CYFRA21-1 and SCC-Ag
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated that low concentrations of CYFRA21-1 and SCC-Ag, as well as low pSUVmax, were associated with EGFR mutations, and that the combination of these factors resulted in a higher differentiation of EGFR mutation status in male patients with NSCLC.PMID:37014455 | DOI:10.1186/s13550-023-00976-5
